Default Offensive content (Rule Thread #1)

Offensive content: (Flatulence)

Flatulence is when a user brings up an off-topic issue, such as politics, within the course of an on-topic discussion. Please keep all content in its proper place at ECF.

Thought I would start this one since so many fall under the heading "Offensive content". Any suggestions?

the wording is good personal i would rather dumb it down and replace Flatulence with a lower intellect word so all could understand it "gas" or baiting flamers or helping flamers.

Personally, I love the flatulence wording, but I understand the concern

This is an international forum and it bugs me when someone corrects someones, spelling, grammer, and punctuation, etc. I speack and write southern english and there is all kinds of english and I know one person that visits this forum that has never spoken english in their life, but does a good job of writing it, my hat is off to that person and I would not want them to be hurt by such comments.

There is a normal flow of conversation that includes natural segues. It occurs in many threads as it does in real life. Based on recent events, how will you prevent the overzealous mods from cracking down on regular ebb and flow in communications.

I'm not talking about intentional derailments although I've rarely seen those on these boards.

well nuck
that is when we all hope that it will be both a judgment of the member who flows with the talk and the judgment of the mod to determine if that talk might belong else where or allowed to stay. moreover i think for the most part this is to cover the blatant attempt to hijack not the simple flow of talk type.

Are we talking about drift? Where a thread is started about e-liquid and how much glycerin to use..then it evolves into the best place to buy glycerin?
Is this rule going to be enforced in the social groups? I insist the ladies stay on topic in the main body of the forum, but I just don't care if we go off topic in that forum. The best threads evolve and take u turns.
Also are you guys talking about a thread in the ..let's say e-cig discussion area and some body says..hey it's my birthday today. Then 5 people wish them well before returning to the topic?
Or are we talking about a blatant hi-jack or troll post?
This rule will be my downfall!..Just start giving me points now..lol

Sorrry, Lordmage and Nuck said all this better in the post's above!

Question Bottom Line

is I never saw one thread devoted to this RULE being needed. Yet SJ felt that it needed to be ADDRESSED with authority. I can be on topic or go with the flow. Why this dramatic shift in the handling of this forum.
