All these new rules make me afraid to post ANYTHING on these forums. They just seem to be a reinforcement of arbitrary interpretation and non-uniform enforcement. DW EDIT BY SMOKEYJOE: No, they are not. This is an attempt to engage the whole community in writing the rules so there is no more misinterpretation by anyone. Either engage with the process constructively, or go elsewhere. Thank you. |

| I'm a little worried myself, I thought the complaint was too much restriction before.

It should also be noted that this list of defined rules was submitted by a forum member for consideration, not by one of the mods or SJ. | |

| No, it was a lack of understanding the rules. Once we understand the rules we will not have a problem with them. Most of the rules so far make good sense. It is called civility. If everyone abides by the same rules everything will run smoothly.

Here's the way I see it.....There needs to be some rules and clear rules so that mods can't make them up as they go. However, if they get too detailed and too much, then it gets to be over the top. For the most part, it's really not rocket science. No spamming, no hate speech/racial slurs, no talking about illegal substances, no cussing, no personal name calling, no posting of personal information, stay on topic (but geez, it's easy to get a little off topic sometimes, and someone shouldn't get banned for that).. but then there are so many other things that we could go on and on and on about, don't question mods, don't ask the same question twice, don't start 2 thread on the same question, don't state your opinion anywhere more than once, don't say the name of a certain company, I mean some of these things just get too over the top detailed, and that's why people start to say, geez, can we even post? And what about private messages? Those are PRIVATE and why should what you say or discuss be able to be reported at all UNLESS SOMEONE THREATENS YOU. Other than that, I don't know what else to say.

I think Rules are the wrong way to describe them we must use them as Guidelines... not so much RULES!!! I think all matters should be dealt with on a case by case basis... bottom line is just try to be civil to each other... save the Drama for the LLama... When your in doubt... Get the Rice Krispy Treats Out... Juice Boxes are Nice Too!!! |

I watch one one darn Blu-ray and now MORE forum upheaval I guess I need a netbook strapped to my face 24/7 so I can catch these developments AS THEY HAPPEN Anyway, i am following Lucky's suggestions and if that is considered INAPPROPRIATE...then I guess the powers that be will tell me. I love , everybody in this situation...BUT WE NEED BALANCE. If SJ can be balanced in his rules and enforcement EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE. In the last two weeks, this place has become unbalanced, maybe thats what SJ needs to get input about. Thats my take
