Default When to charge the battery?

I have a Joye 510. I've only bought the standard batteries for it. I've never understood about rechargeable stuff: some things tell you to recharge when the battery is completely drained, while others say to occasionally drain the battery completely before recharging, but otherwise to go ahead and recharge between uses.

The instructions that came with the 510 said: For first use, charge 8 hours, then use for 20 minutes, then charge again for 1 hour.

I did that (I was very patient.... I was at work most of that day and it was easy to be patient). It worked great. Now I'm not sure which way to prolong battery life and get the most out of each charge: Is it best to let each battery drain all the way before re-charging, or can I take a battery that's still got a good charge and stick it in the charger when I go to bed?

My LED blinks when the battery's about to fail, but I've learned that if I see a sudden reduction in vapor production when I've got lots of liquid in the cart, it's probably the battery telling me it's almost out. Should I hit it anyway to draw down the last bit of charge before sticking it in the charger?

Any clear advice on this would be appreciated greatly. Sorry if I wasn't real clear myself in asking the questions!

The lithium ion batts that come with ecigs are totally different than the NiCad and NiMH that we used to use for everything. Lith ion will not build up a memory like the old ones used to so you can charge it whenever you feel is the right time. To be honest, you didn't have to charge it for 8 hours before using it either. That is another throw back to the old days. I have been using the same 2 batts on my 510 that came with it and I bought it July 6th. I use them until it flashes while I'm awake and whatever one is being used at bedtime goes on the charger whether it is dead or not. The sealed manual lith ion batts are pretty tough.

they run a voltage curve from 4.2 volts fresh off the charger down to 2.7 volts when they flash and say flat..

the more often you charge them the better your e cig will work... keeping it up near the higher voltage means it works better.. if the charger is under your nose swap them over as soon as the one in the charger is done.. this will produce the best results..

you dont have to but it will produce the best results..

The conventional wisdom is that you should swap batteries as soon as the charger turns green, even if the battery you're using still has some life in it.

I don't know if that's true, but at the very least, the old conventional wisdom about running the battery all the way down before recharging it doesn't hold true with these batteries.

the above posts are correct.............and if you're using a pcc charging them sooner will allow them to charge much more quickly so you can keep ahead the charging to avoid running out of batts
