I'm refilling the carts that came with my starter pack (Janty Stick), and after a few refills, the juice stops flowing. Even though the batting is soaked to the point where topping is limited to 1 or 2 drops before they overflow, I'm only getting half to one hour of vaping and then the vapour stops, or at best is wispy and unsatisfying. This is a source of much frustration when I go out and despite a well filled cart, get left vapourless for hours. The batting is holding on to the liquid and refusing to release it. What I've tried: - Using a syringe to fill from the bottom and 'work' the batting to loosen it up. Gets me maybe another half hour and then stops. - Removed the batting, squeezed it out in a paper towel, pulled it apart to loosen it and put it back. It then takes a dozen drops to refill and works great, for half a day, then it starts it's nonsense again. - Removed the soggy batting, turned it around and stuck it back in. Worked great for a couple of hours, then back to the same problem. - Tried a teabag mod. The draw became far too easy, like sucking air through a straw, which I didn't like, I prefer a bit of resistance. The vapour was fair but not up to normal Stick standards. Held a heck of a lot of liquid but wouldn't give it all back, which was a waste. How can I get my carts to simply do the job they are designed to do? |

ADM mod... The point of any filler is also its problem, it holds liquid. You can never get it all out, and the more filler the more it holds in forever. Using the Automatic Drip Mod, you use less filler so, so less liquid is stuck in there. Take your filler out, and throw away 3/4 of it. Take a spring from a pen and put in pointing in and out of the cart. Cut the spring so its at the same location depth wise as where compressed filler was. Fill the cart with juice. Cap off the filled cart with that 1/4 of filler you have. You will think it would leak all over, but it won't. When it stops vapeing you will have an empty cart, and wet filler, but since there is less filler, its holding less and you were able to use more. Another option that I do is, I accept I won't get every drop out of the filler. It only takes 2 drops every time to fill. So I put 2 drops in the cart, and drip 3 to 4 more on the atty of my 801, and that lasts me for my smoke break or the drive into work (short) without refilling.

I had the same problem with using my Janty Stick. If I blow thru the mouth end I can blow the eliquid from the end of the cart to the wick. That lasts a few more good pulls. If I draw too fast on the JS I'll dry out the top of the cart take longer slow puffs. Also you can try the short draw, another short draw, release the manual switch briefly, and then take a long draw. Loads of vapor. Good luck and I hope it helps. Almost forgot: I usually alternate sessions between 2 Sticks and let one rest while I puff on the other. |

I found this to be the most frustrating part of vaping! Nosed around in the "Modder's" forum and tried many of them until I hit upon this one: NEW 510 Cart MOD Blue Foam Plug Cart Mod "The Slug" Blue Foam Plug v2.0 After some angst with the learning curve, it's been working well for me. I'm afraid many new vapers will give up and go back to the nasty analogs because of this cart issue. Hang in there, Doug! From what I've read the technology is getting better and better with many advances just within the past year. Someday soon we may have access to the perfect, trouble-free, PV! |

Took a trip to my nearest aquarium supply store. They don't have the same material as in the States but they did have white fibre filter sheet, quite a bit thicker than the US blue pad and with a fairly stiff face on one side, possibly treated with something to firm it up. I cut a small piece, separated the hard face and used the backing to make a "plug" more or less as per the Blue Foam Plug Mod, filled the cart and inserted the plug. There was a slight improvement over the standard fill allowing me to vape longer, but there were problems: - Seapage past the plug. - Failure to 'wick' the juice through to the atty. If left for a few minutes, I got 1 good vape and then had to wait another few minutes. Would seem the solution could be to make the plug tighter (wider), to stop seapage and thinner to improve wicking, but I'm not sure the material will allow this, probably, solving one problem will make the other worse. |

I'm also going ahead with trials of the stuff I mentioned above, this time I used the 'stiff-face' side, making it wider to seal better as well as thinner which I hope will wick better. Will post if it works. Meantime the performance of the first trial piece improved overnight, maybe needed time to settle in and saturate, today's vaping was not perfect but certainly better than the stock filling. I reckon this mod is the real deal. Btw, I'm vaping a Janty Stick and not the PV the mod thread was based on, it will probably work on anything. PS: Seems my ban was lifted as I was posting. k lady, you have a PM. | |

Problem solved I reckon. ![]() Last night I read this thread by ProfessorDaffy ADM-PC: Automatic Drop Mod - Paper Clip Variant credit to you and those who preceeded you in the development. I spent a few minutes, clipping a plastic coated paper clip, using the large loop end to perfectly fit my larger Janty Stick cart, filled the cart and stuck a smallish ball of filler in to plug it. Vaping is big and consistant until the cart is empty, too big perhaps, so I mostly take shortish puffs, much like smoking an analog. Totally brilliant for that first thing in the morning, desperation Nic-loading session! Not too worried about corrosion, the exposed metal ends are tiny and at the bottom of the cart and should mostly be kept wet by the liquid, little oxygen = little rust. My filler material is a filter material from a local aquarium shop but is nothing like the "Blue Foam Plug" material, which is not available here in SA. (k-lady is very kindly sending me some ). It tends to push down next to the paper clip a bit, but this doesn't seem to detract and it stays well moistened all the time. Refilling by syringe is quick and easy.I may now confirm that the paper clip mod variant works great in large carts such as those for the Janty Stick. |

Wow, k lady, that's incredibly nice of you. Good luck Doug! You might want to consider dripping, it's not for everyone, but it's reliable and more controllable. |
