Default Looking for a reliable back up, considering a Twist

I currently have a Provari, which I keep topped with a 5 ml Big Daddy Tank (I have two I keep in rotation), which I use with SR Boge XL 3 ohm cartos. I usually sit at around 3.8 - 4.5 volts. I refill them every few days, and love the simplicity of it.

I jumped in the deep end when I decided to try vaping, and bought a Provari without ever having taken a "toot." I had a feeling I'd love it, and I did. Any thoughts of having a cigarette were chased away by my big clouds of vapor. That was in Feburary, when I got my annual bonus, so while I'd love to buy another Provari, it's just not in the cards (credit nor debit..ha ha). Now that I'm thoroughly addicted to vaping, I realized it's probably not a good idea to have all of my juice in one tank, so to speak.

I'm looking for a solid, reliable, affordable back-up mod/battery and because I've only ever used a vv device, the Twist has caught my eye. However, the many posts about button issues has kept me from hitting the "BUY" button in the various shopping carts I've thrown one in. I've also had a hard time finding a single vendor that sells both the eGo-C Twist AND a charger (well, they sell the charger, but are currently sold out). I'd like to make a single purchase, if possible, to avoid added shipping costs and the dreaded wait. I know I have my Provari to vape on no matter what, but you all know how hard it is to get a new toy and not be able to play right away!!

I would use this backup just like I use my Provari. I'd pop my tank on it and go. Any advice on reliable vendors or other mod/battery options would be greatly appreciated. Should I wait a little longer and see if the battery issue on the Twist is addressed? Is there a particular vendor recommended? I know I should stop being a sissy and just order something already, but I've been researching for days, going back and forth and decided it was time to just ask for some suggestions.

    Thanks!!

I'm not sure about the button problems others are having on the twist, but mine does stick occasionally. Really no big deal tho...just click it again and it's all good. Haven't had an ego battery yet that didn't have the button stick once in a while.

Check out myvaporstore.com. They have been great for me so far and have pretty good prices.

Yeah, I was just commenting about the button issues on another thread, and yes these are cheap Chinese made batteries that often have button issues. BUT, they are cheap Chinese made batteries with variable voltage! Your buttons may or may not stick, and I have also heard that the little twisty wheel can have totally random amounts of twistiness, and who knows how long they will last, but at $20~$30 you can buy another one every now and then, and that's why they are such a deal. If at some point I come into a couple hundred dollars, I would also probably invest in a Provari as well. It's really not a lot of money when you consider it's function and reliability, and how much you would have spent on cigarettes anyway, but it can be hard to squeeze that kind of money out if you don't have it, but almost anyone can come up with twenty bucks or so every now and then. So yeah just do it.

No particular recommendations on vendor though. I remember that it seemed a little stupidly hard to find a spare charger a few months ago when I was trying to buy one. I remember several places selling just the usb part without the wall adapter. I think I finally got one from either litecigusa or VaporGod.

My main pvs are also Provaris but the Twist looked interesting so I got one last week at Joye eGo-C Twist Variable Voltage 1000mAh Battery I got the blue one. They also have the cones and chargers. I really like mine and have been using it several hours each day. Only thing is a big tank looks odd and makes the twist too top heavy. The DC 3.5 tank with the ego adapter looks alright though. I primarily run the Pheonix bottomcoils on mine and it looks and vapes really sweet.GotVapes PHOENiX™ Bottom Coil XL 1.5ml Cartomizer 2.6-2.8ohms [gv-PHOENIX-XL-2.6-510] - $11.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more
I haven't had any issues with my twist-switch or anything else. For under 30.00 its a great deal.

Something like a SmokeTek Varicool might be better than a twist. Less bells and whistles and it's a box but, it should have about the same power as the Provari. Depending on what you use, the Twist might be a little under powered and the battery life might be a problem.

I have 3 650 mah Twists from Cignot and have not had any button or dial problems with any of them. I've also never had button problems with any of the eGo-T batteries that I got from Cignot (650 mah, 1000 mah, and 1000 mah passthrough).

I have two 1000 mah Twists also from Cignot. Again - no button or dial problems at all. They've worked perfectly out of the box and I'm very happy with them. I've used a variety of ways to atomize the juice, but I think that my favorite is the 2.5 to 2.8 stardust at about 4 volts. I also have a variety of genuine Joye Ego batteries, and I haven't had a problem one with any of the buttons. Some of my Ego batteries are now over a year old and still going strong. So, I think that the QC on genuine Joye products is excellent.

I have been vaping 2 twists for a week now (1 is a 650mah, and the other is 1100). Two of my favorite reviewers have given these devices 'thumbs-up" so I bought them.

The 1100 is big (long). Too much for me, actually. You might not have an issue with it as the Provari has some heft as well. The 650mah is better sized (for me) but I also have the sticky-button issue.
I can say that both models do vary the voltage as advertised. However, as most of my cartos are LR, I usually find myself at 4V and that is my sweet spot. So I am not using the variable voltage as much as I thought I would. I may switch over to a K-Go, which pushes 4V (no load) and fits me better. It also half the price (about) as it does not include the electronics for voltage variation.

You could get an Apollo VTube kit (AKA, Lavatube) for $52.47 (or $59.47 for chrome, or $73.47 for all-stainless) with use of their 30% off code: vtube30

Several had the Ego Twist at our vape meet last week and love them. I personally don't have one but all I know is so far everyone I've talked to that has one, loves it. And they are very reasonable in price and look like they are made durable.
