I could be wrong, but it seems to me that there are only 3 or 4 e-cig manufacturers in China - and that those few manufacturers supply the vast majority of all e-cigs and e-cig components to the rest of the world. It will be those few manufacturers that hold the patents and they will probably have agreements with their Major customers that they (the manufacturer) will not supply 'their' cigarettes to another customer for a period of time, say, 12 months. After that period of time, they can probably sell to anyone that wants 'em, with the provison that they cannot state who they have previously been supplied to. This works for both parties in two ways, i.e. The original major customer has his hard won, good will protected and in turn his customers, if they have been satisfied by the product, will continue to purchase from their original supplier - brand loyalty comes into this as well. This also benefits the Manufacturer by allowing him to use his plant and machinery to greater efficiency by producing and selling far more cigarettes than he would otherwise have done by selling to only one wholesaler/retailer. Now I'm not sure whether Janty is a manufacturer, if not, then the above could also apply to them..... ......if they are a manufacturer, they will probably hold the patent - But if other manufacturers are using the above methods (which will also tend to bring the cost per unit down significently) Janty will not have much choice but to follow suit and allow selected sellers to market their (un-marked or 'generic') products - but they will not be able to say that the items are actually made by Janty. Now I'm not an expert on e-cigs, or Marketing, or patent laws, so I could be completely wrong here........ ....BUT, as my old Granny used to say, 'if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck and swims like a duck, then there is a pretty damned good chance that it's probably a duck.... From what I understand, Ludo put his home address on his patent applications, and does not want to make it pubilc. This means he has a limited ability to enforce them. I'd be surprised if they were already out of the pending stage, though, (I could be wrong) and have no idea which countries he has applied for them in.

Hi billyboy, not really a collection yet, I have -- 2 x 801 penstyle 2 x 901 mini 1 x 801 cannon mod 2 x 801 usb smokers and of course lots of atomizers and batteries I would happily swap my 901's for 801's I love the 801's. I have ordered, not got yet, 3 x 801 usb with manual switch 2 x 901 usb with long life battery. when all arrives, then I will have a collection...... I never order 1 of anything, I even buy 2 kettles and 2 toasters..... the 2 x 901's will probably go to family members over xmas, I will keep the long life usb 901's. I think I have enough for a while now, unless I see something I really like / want. I would like to find somewhere in Australia to buy really good flavours for our eliquid, any ideas.... have a good one, Di ...... |
