I would imagine they use a solvent to dissolve the nicotine from the plant material, then refine it eleventy times to get all the lumps out... ...or...since most of this stuff is coming out of a biotech company in China...synthetic nicotine created in a lab? That's why I prefer the US made stuff. They're pretty transparent about their ingredients. |

Does synthetic nicotine come from a plant also. Is synthetic nicotine made from other material. What is it compared to tobacco nicotine. Which is better for us. I guess I don't grasp the concept of synthetic vs. tobacco nicotine. Could you explain this in simple terms.

Nicotine is nicotine, and none of it is "better" for you, nicotine is essentially poison that we pump into our bodies.

| Super Member | Uhhhhhh No, maybe you should look up nicotine as a chemical, to learn more about what it really is, and how it affects the human body.

You know, like in all those scary movies. I don't know, I'm assuming a lot...and I'm no biochemist. | |

Nicotine, in free base form, is either nicotine or it is not. I well remember a discussion in my first year chem class with the professor (MANY moons ago...lol..) regarding which was the best aspirin to take, Bayer or another brand (Everybody makes their own aspirin in 1st year college chem). The conclusion: the chemical is either acetasalicylic acid (aspirin) or it is not. There is no such thing as a better or worse acetasalicylic acid. However, even though the atomic structure is the same in synthetic vs. extracted nicotine. The chirality is not. And it's not hard to understand chirality. Your hands are the same, aren't they? Each has four fingers and a thumb with fingernails and all that good stuff. Nope. Place one hand palm flat on a table and then the other one palm down over it. Hmmm.....The thumbs are on different sides. They are mirror images of one another. They are the same structure, but bass ackwards. They have different chirality. Synthetic nic has left handed chirality and extracted has right. This has caused some to speculate that synthetic causes the same effect, but may be less poisonous to humans. Anything can be poisonous.....Ever heard of water toxicity? But the way we use nic as an end product is completely safe for adult humans. Kids and animals, we need to take precautions. |
