Often PC laptops (including my work one, and my home one) don't provide enough power to charge something (including cellphones) when they're undocked from main power (especially if they go into sleep or hibernate mode...don't know about screen saver mode). Also, most manuals that I've seen on USB chargable devices tell you that if the battery is completely drained, to charge it from an AC/USB charger, rather than a computer USB port.

I'm having problems with my 510 passthrough as well. It was working fine until yesterday. Now to activate it, I have to press the switch down VERY HARD, to the point of it leaving an indentation on my finger. Before I just pressed the switch lightly and it activated instantly!!
I received my order around the 14th of May, So I think I'm out of the warranty period

yeah, i am going to bring the quality issues to the attention of the manufacturer. see if they can get an upgraded switch in them soon.

Am I the only one getting lighter hits when I smoke through the passthrough, be it plugged to any of my PC's (2 desktops, 1 laptop plugged in) or my Jeep (USB on the stereo, can charge my phone off it)?
With a normal manual battery and the passthrough back to back, there is a definite difference in the 'hit' I get.
I have two passthroughs, but have not tested on my second one. Possibly the length of the cable etc. is introducing a bit of resistance or something similar?
Am I alone on this one? It's still very usable, but it's making me prefer my manuals, which sort of defeats the purpose of the passthrough.
I have 5 manuals so it's no big deal.. just.. convenient to have a passthrough since my Jeep has a USB port!

well i have talked to the supplier on this issue, and have gotten a bunch of batteries that im going to be selling pretty cheap. I wonder somewhat if its a battery issue.. not getting a full charge or something.. i honestly dont know, i dont use my passthrough a ton, but i just busted one out today and threw at battery in it and it seems okay, sometimes i get poor hits but most of the time its great.. but hey at least im honest about it and im clueless as to what/why there are inconsistoncies..

Do you sell 510 passthrough batteries or know of anyone in the US that does?

Wow, fast shipping this time Jason! You mailed on Saturday and it made it to me in New England today. Passthrough works fine. I have it pluged into a USB 2.0 port on my desktop...well actually a USB 2.0 port on my flat screen monitor now since it's more convenient, but I've tried both with equal results. Totally acceptable performance, although it's about the same as a freshly charged battery...no extra "kick" or anything.
Two pluses to it for me...it saves on battery wear and tear since the batteries are only good for a limited number of charge/discharge cycles, and also, the connector to the atomizer, while shaped exactly like a battery, is much lighter in weight. I like that. Oh, and the manual switch on mine works great, just like the battery switches. No complaints here...very worthwhile purchase IMHO.
