Question to fellow vapors.

I had 3 dead in a week that I've always thought was because of a screwy auto batt. Returned it and haven't lost one since, even with running at 5V. Using one right now I got from you in March.

My grandmother still uses one from you she got in April, yet has 10 others from assorted sources that have died in that same time frame. No specific reason I've been able to pinpoint.

I used an 801 penstyle for a long time, and I KNOW those @#$%^&* batteries blew most of mine. Highcharge, lowcharge, highcharge, etc....I really think it is the battery power wafting and waning, at first you have good heat, then lose it, your atty clogs a bit, pretty soon they burn out. I've had them die slow deaths, one was DOA out of the box. Some developed such a burned taste I couldn't clean it (the coil insulators burned.) But those @#$%^& auto batteries! cost me a fortune.
Then Janty came out with the Stick. $3.20 batteries last forever, four hours or so per charge!! Not so much the $14-18 ones! I really like the 801 attys the best, so the Stick was perfect for me.

I honestly think people clean them too much/too often. Since I have quite all the cleaning rituals both my 901 and 510 attys are fine. Been using the same 510 atty for 9 weeks and my 901 for 8 weeks. I've lost one 510 atty since I got my 510 and it was my fault. I lost several 901's when I was cleaning so often. Since I quit that even the 901's are great. I do a dry burn now and then but that is it. I don't blow them out at night. I don't take them apart or leave them sitting a certain way. I just set it on my table and leave it be until the next day.

yeah thats my thoughts on the whole thing too. but having 4 atomizers go in a month all in a row is a little ridiculous.. (i have a customer that claims this right now) Yeah im gonna replace a few for him no biggie. But he exclusively uses TW and Johnson Creek... I know when i used JC for a while it killed some of my attys pretty quick but u dont know why.

I like JC flavors, well some of them, but Ive dumped out my stock for this very reason. Every single time I load a cart with anything JC, old or new formula, I either get a lot of black chunks in the fill, then atomizer death a few days later, or immediate atomizer death after a few draws. I could totally believe killing 4 attys in a month if you are using strictly JC. I think either the flavoring or the base is creating excessive residue on the atomizer.

Im REALLY stingy with my juice, too. I wont even wipe off a cart that has some liquid running down the side, thats how bad I am. But, I dumped out over 50+ ml of JC straight down the drain, as I was absolutely certain it was killing my atomizers.

I don't think it's a problem with JC. I vape that stuff like mad and have been on the same 4 attys for over two months now.
Maybe using 4 at a time gives them some sort of a rest or something or maybe QC is bad in some batches.
From what i have read on these forums the basic method to extend the life of an atty is to pray really really hard and think about puppies and rainbows.

I know people blame atty death on juices all the time, and I think they're usually diagnosing death too early.
If the juices have solids, sugars, or oils in them, they could clog up the atty, but that's not death.

Maybe if these kind of solids heat up too much and torch the atty coil, it'll do damage enough to cause electrical death? The thick tobacco juices (and some other types, like maple, that might have sugars in the flavoring) have been implicated in this.

My question is, how could HV 'resurrect' an atomizer?

See, I thought I'd killed my first two 306 attys (my first kit from Electronicstix) and my first 510 atty, but having known enough tech support people, I always blame 'user error' first.
(I feel for ya, Jason, since you can't really tell customers they're prolly just screwing it up. )
I wasn't juicing them enough, and I was taking long drags, two common beginner errors. They just gave me a burnt taste all the time and performed irregularly. Tried cleaning with an overnight vodka soak and hot water rinse, but that didn't seem to help.

But I hate the idea of throwing out an atomizer, so I kept them. When I got my first HV mod, I juiced them like crazy and tried them out again. Whaddaya know, they're humming along fine.

I've heard similar stories from at least two other people. I know, anecdotes aren't data, but it's interesting.
