    Not a bad report.

I still think the gateway thing is ridiculous however. I fail to understand how a qualified and intelligent man would think that a youth might wake up and think,"I've got a good idea, instead of vaping today I'm going to spend 15x more money, on something that tastes like crap, makes me stink, and is going to kill me." It's not going to happen is it; the youth will vape.

The youth will smoke analog cigs first if anything.. since all they see when they walk into a local supermarket, gas station, bar, club is analog cigs. The ones we are running away from. I work in a supermarket.. we sell a LIMITED amount of disposable e-cigs.. with the analog cigs in plain sight next to the asperines and lottery tickets and the e-stuff out of sight

Lets not forget what gets kids smoking.. peer pressure. On school.. because its what all the other kids do. Or at home from parents smoking analog. Unless everyone starts mass vaping they wont all jump on the vaping train.

After that comes the vaping.. then they choose to not inhale over 4000 chemicals and whatever they put in those things. But by then they will have been exposed to analog cigs and the dangers that come with them. But by then they wont be youths.

I think that depends on your location, here in France it's impossible to buy cigarettes outside of a "Tabac" (tobacconist)
who are all now the latest converts to ecigs,& are turning out 'kits' at exhorbitant prices averaging €60.00 for a simple eGo set up
not that I'm against them pushing them,it's just they are seeking a monopoly, which in turn will squeeze out the 'little guys',who at least know what they are selling & can advise accordingly.

The "Tabacs" by contrast haven't got a clue nor could they care less, they just see their cigarette profits dropping like crazy & this just seems like a great idea to once again monopolise ....read 'merchants of death'

seem to be having a very anti week

Found this clip on Euro News and posted it too before I saw yours...sorry Julie.
Still if this is representative of the general opinion the educated public will take of e-cigarettes then may be it will moderate the ability of the Big Ps and the MEPs in their pockets to implement this crazy piece of legislation......I hear France is to submit a legal challenge.

No problem I do the same thing all the time
I haven't heard anything on a legal challenge, there is much talk of taking to the streets & 'manifesting' though

Le Monde (heavyweight newspaper ) ran a poll yesterday for vapers (of course I missed it which is interesting,it seems they are taking an 'active interest' which is great. (I hope )They carry a lot of weight here

In the Netherlands we have a saying: "It's only after the calf has drowned that the well is closed up."

Of course all these big media now flocking behind us is a great thing. But the damage is already done (the calf has already drowned)...
The problem with common sense is that it ain't...

True, but as it is up to each member state to apply(interpret) the laws as they see fit, this publicity from a highly respected newspaper will send a clear message to our dear politicians on just what the 'vaping electorate' are thinking & what great tax potential resides therein.(more imprtantly).....I also ask myself WHY they chose to do it on the day the legislation was passed. ? Yes I'm a cynic but.....
France is notorious for ignoring European legislation which doesn't serve it's own interests.
Also it seems AIDUCE will take up the legality of this utter nonsense. So I'm not giving up yet.

    quote:
The law firm hired by the specialized AIDUCE confirms that the regulation of e-cigarettes imposed by the European Directive of tobacco products is contrary to EU treaties. During its preparation, no consultation with the people most affected, the vapoteurs themselves, has been programmed. The fundamental principle of the free movement of goods within the Single Market has been flouted. This regulation must be challenged, and will be the first legally possible occasion, that is to say from its transposition into national law.

Here is what the Vapers had to say after the poll ,this is truly a huge validation by "La Monde"a very very serious newspaper here.
I'm going to have to subscribe to see the results

Well, the EU has voted but the best weapon to limit the damage or perhaps get the member states to ignore this ruling is a correctly informed public opinion....and this means good publicity. If the one and a half million vapers in the UK can drum up support from the majority of the non-committed public then the prohibitionists won't get a free ride with MPs who are only interested in votes. Look even ASH has stated that e-cigarettes are preferable to analogs. With such an anti-smoking culture in the media surely they would be interested in a deliberate EU move which drives people back into smoking. The EU is not the flavor of the month in the UK....I know UKIP would use this to further their ends.
