Again, no facts here....but...
I find that the burning taste for me occurs at two times. One, when I start to dry the atomizer out a little too much. Since I drip, that's when I know it's time to add some more juice. I am careful NEVER to keep hitting the cig when I even get a hint of that taste (as I think thats what is killing atomizers so quickly for many people, again, a suspision).
The other time is after the auto-clean cycle. I actually have used a manual auto-clean (that sounds funny) using the Janty manual switch. (I feel the battery auto-clean last TOO long to be good for the atomizer, especially if it isn't full of juice) I have found that helps an atomizer produce better vapor. I suspect it is burning the "gunk" off the coil. However, you DO need to make sure there is juice in the atomizer when you do it, AND you do have to tolerate the bad taste for a few hits. When that doesn't improve the vapor, that's when I know it's time for a boiling, which has worked every time for me.

I'm getting sick of this. Just had another "autoclean" happen and as far as i'm concerned once that has happened then the atomiser is useless. The taste and smell are bloody awful and there is no ooomph left in the thing and it does'nt come back. The battery also takes a beating when it happens and it also stinks and if i put that battery on to another atomiser (even with a new cart) i can still taste and smell that awful mess.
As far as boiling, washing etc i have followed both the "boiling in the pan" method and washing as you have described. The results are 3 stone dead atomisers. I'm using the Classic Penstyle and carts from e-cigs uk and i can't fault the service at all. They all start out fine until the dreaded "autoclean" or "auto****" as i call it. As i said before in a post somewhere, one of the atomiser's actually expanded so any cart i put in it just wobbles around. The other big, big problem is the Batterys. I have always got at least one on charge and it may have escaped your notice but the price of Electricity is rocketing. There has got to be a better designed battery before this product is viable. I don't understand why it's not possible after all there are people in Nasa talking about putting people on Mars. What are they gonna use for Electricity? Very long cables?
Sorry for the rant.
Having said all that i still hav'nt had a real cigarette since i started using these things and that's got to be about six weeks. I was smoking 30-40 a day.

deewal,
I have been boiling my atomizers for some time, and have 3 that have been boiled a bunch of times, and all still work great. Are you being sure to prime them with juice (after they are blown-out and dry a little)? You have to make sure not to ...activate a dry atomizer as the coil will overheat and fry.
It's a bummer you've lost 3 this way, but I suspect it's the technique, though, it could also be bad atomizers (from what I have read). And I do agree the auto-clean thing is a HUGE mistake, but only in that it runs too long. I use a manual auto-clean (with the Janty manual switch) from time to time. It does improve performance and it only takes a couple puffs to clear out the bad taste. When it auto-cleans, it takes a BUNCH of puffs to get rid of the taste.
Hang in there, it takes a while to get the swing of things. And...I'm now 22 days Analog Cig Free!!! Woo Hoo!!!

I amazed, I followed the advice here and put one that was completely dead and I put it in boiling water for 5 minutes (two times) and it came back to life and is vaping just like a new one. The first time it just let out a bit of smoke so I boiled it again and to my amazement it is as good as the new replacement that I got. Thanks to all of you for that great advice.

Well, I went on a small rampage a little while back reminding everyone to clean their atomizers. I just rinse under warm water, blow out excess water manually, then blow dry till its thoroughly dry. Afterwards, I get a significant increase in vapor. Usually, I can tell when i need to clean when my vapor lessens markedly. Once cleaned, my pieces tend to get much much better. That's my 2 cents.

GREAT advice on this thread!
My Janty Classic, after only 2 weeks, began producing only about 20% vapor (I think their chocolate flavor caused it since right after it began)... but at any rate, I did the boil trick.
I filled a sauce pan with 10 parts water to 1 part vinegar, then put my atomizer on a wooden spoon to keep it off the bottom and in the middle of the boiling water, and let boil for 15 minutes.
Upside is that WOW, 100 vapor back now!! Downside? Took me close to an hour to re-prime it with fluid for some reason, and a little bit of the paint on it flaked off (nothing a magic marker can't fix).
Let me tell you, the stuff that came out of it was ODD. It looked almost exactly like glue. Same consistency anyway. I missed wiping a spot off and afterward I literally needed to chip it off the threads of the atomizer.
Anyone else ever experienced this? I had no particles or other gunk, just the gluey substance. I think it was dried out glycerine. Like what dish soap does if you leave it in an open bottle for a year, turning into a hardened mass of glycerine.
Anyway, bottom line is THANKS for this thread!
