    Default anyone ever try???

Hubby and I was talking about cleaning atomizers and we where wondering if anyone has tried polident smokers? you know denture cleaner for smokers. Or heck any denture cleaner? The smoker stuff gets rid of coffee and smoke stains and works wonders on thermoses.

    Thanks

I tried the polident and it didn't clean any better than anything else I tried. Most of what I tried cleaned the atomizer enough to continue using it but it didn't actually dissolve the gunk buildup inside.

Performed in a different way, I think this might work.

I haven't yet tried either the Polident Fizz-action tablets or the baking soda + vinegar methods. But they are interesting because the gas bubbles would be the active part rather than chemical action, which we know now is limited. Packed as powder into the atty and the dowsed with hot water, it would be more concentrated. I think it's well worth a try. The 3 minute one is perhaps the fastest.

When I tried it, i just threw a couple of attys in very hot water then added one tablet. That fizzed away in less than a minute...then nothing. So I tried a second tablet...same thing. The fizz really only lasted less than a minute and I didn't see any major difference than using plain water or even white vinegar.

Let us know if you try something different with it.

That way the fiz is all outside the atty. I think the trick is to crush the tablet to a powder and put the powder inside the atty before adding hot water.

I still have some left. Maybe I'll give it a go.
