A hybrid design (boil pure water (perhaps with PG) on a coil and mix the vapor with a piezo mist of the flavoring) is my suggestion for solving the problem that a mist would feel cool.
Misting the flavorings (and perhaps VG) would solve all the problems of decomposition and dry-residues.
(True, we'd be inhaling some unnecessary flavoring fillers, resins, etc. unless the juice issue is looked at and the compostions refined, but now we are inhaling the breakdown products of these as they get burned on the heater coil.)

Looks interesting.
Someone posted that they had got vapour from e-liquid
using ultrasonic medicinal vapouriser a while back,
but quite reasonably weren't willing to sacrifice their £75 kit
with further tests.
And I've seen suitably sized & 'powered' ultrasonic membranes
as seperately available items.
Shame these things are 2000 min pieces order, or similar.

I have thought about getting some out on an old inkjet printer. But they need an oscillator circuit to be vibrated.
Perhaps easiest thing to do would be to buy a pezo based e-cig, if there really is one available.
There are usb humidifiers available cheaply; that would be a good starting point.

I think a good design idea would be to have a piezo atomizer, then an 'afterburner', which would essentially be a heating mesh, decently near the mouthpiece to minimize temperature drop due to distance.
Another atomizer design i've been thinking of, is a liquid resivour, that passes through a tiny tube with a heating coil around it, but not heated high enough to vaporize the PG. Then you pass it at a high pressure through a spray nozzle. This nozzle's pressure requirements could be aided by the sucking action.
This would completely eliminate fluid in mouth problems, and residue/deposits from the vaporization process, but whether it would vaporize the liquid or not is questionable.
If it does, you could add the afterburner tip idea to get more heat out of it.

In a similar vein, I have pondered the idea of heating a small amount of liquid so that the vapor pressure at phase change forces the vapor trough a nozzle before. Might well require more power than heating just a few droplets but has the advantage that the juice would be in a sealed (though refillable) container.
Af for after-burner, the mist would, it it touched the heater just vaporise. And heating the bulk of the air flow would be difficult (inefficient). Heating the liquid before hand would be better - but t would have to be just a small amount of liquid just before it was passed into the piezo mister.

good find, too bad about the minimum order. That is different than a lot of the other ultrasonic discs I have seen, looks like it would work awesomely if one could afford that many!

I have an old inkjet printer; these have tiny piezos inside. Just haven't had the time to do some dismantling ...

Hey you guys you can buy these at ant craft store for about 30 dollars they are used in homade fountain to make the mist I am sure you have seen these at the mall they are lit from led lights from undernethe to ad color like I said go to one of the bigger craft stores such as michials and ask for them no 2000 minimum order

Experimented a bit with a piezo disk but no success as yet. Will need to get a working unit to suss out voltage and frequency employed. But still feel that an inket type would be prefereable.
