It seems the longer you soak-in-coke........the greater result! I tried one for about an hour...with minimal results! Will have to go 3 or 4 and see what happens!.......ceejay,I have heard that diet works just as well!

The coke idea sounds awesome. My only concern surrounding it would be that if you did it too much or left the atomizer in too longer the coke would eat through the heating coil. Any thoughts on this?

Banqer--In response to concerns regarding this issue, I soaked 4 good atomizers (RN4072 Pensytle compatible with DSE801) for 5 days --washed dried, re-primed, and they all worked great--so IMO --that dismissed the issue--hope that helps--Sun

I reported a short while ago (previous page in this thread) that Coke cleaned
the 'burnt' taste out of 3 bad tasting atomizers.
But that taste has come back again fairly quickly,
I think the coke treatment may need to be done frequently/regularly
to stop carbon build up.
Might try the suggested heat/freeze method using a electronics spray coolant,
but this needs the atomizer to be disassembled

I got the burnt taste, as well...Smoked through it in about a day. I think that may just be residual stuff breaking up.
It's gone now and the atomizer works great.
When I get the new ones from Sun I'm going to dig into them and sort it all out.

Brilliant!!! I'm going to try that with my Starbucks machine.
I tried the coke cleaning method....nothing.

If my next cleaning does nothing.. I may have some donations for you to tear apart too. What kind do you need to try out?

TBH, I wouldn't mind laying in to some 901's. I know the routine works with the 801 / 4072 but I'd like to dig in to the smaller ones
