Well I tried the lemon juice trick and After I boiled the atomizer for 2 minutes in it it came out real clean. Then when I was rinsing it off under the tap something fell out of it. I thought oh well I got spares this one is ruined. Wish I could of saw fell out but it went down the drain hole. Anyway I checked it over and it looked ok so I primed it up and BANG worked great. I think it must of been a chunk of crap that fell out cause it looks complete to me and lots of vapor. Thanks for the info on this trick. |

Wow, very cool. Thanks. Wouldn't a tiny aerosol air can work just as well? The ones used to clean out dust in towers and other electronics. There are some that have bittering agents to prevent abuse (inhaling and such), but I'm sure there are some free of such things that don't harm the environment. Or are these not powerful enough? |

Tried this with 6 atomizers - 80% water, 20% lemon juice, a little salt, boiled for 2-3 minutes, let dry overnight. Came out pretty clean - worked well. But note - they do need several (5-6) drops of juice to start up. Thank you for the tip - |

If you are ready to risk an atomizer try the canned air but not all atomizers can handle, be sure to have a spare one before the blow

My son thought I had a meth lab going with all the paraphernalia lying about as I "cooked" the atomizer, LoL

I do not have any atomizers 'grimed' up yet, but has anyone tried using a Water Pick to clean the gook off the coil? You know, those teeth cleaning water jet devices for oral hygiene. It seems that you could 'pressure wash' the atomizer coil pretty effectively, with one of these just using water. What I do not know is how fragile that little bit of wick is wrapped inside of the heating coil.

| Apparently they aren't powerful enough to blast the gunk off.

My NPRO got sort of weak today after almost a month of constant use. I changed the cart, but hardly anything. I have a spare atomizer, still in the wrapper. I'm in a hotel right now so, just for s**t's & giggles, I held the atomizer with a miniature pair of pliers, under the hot running water in the sink for a few minutes. I then blew it out with the hair dryer for about a minute. Let it cool for a few minutes, and fired it up. NOTHING. Dropped two drops of juice into it, 4 drops into the cart, and puffed for a few minutes. Slowly, it came back to life. I'm getting some major hits on it right now. | |
