Wouldn't it work better to rinse them in grain alcohol instead of water after the mouthwash soak ? The GA evaporates much faster than water and would therefore seem to require much less "sitting to dry". I'd also think it would clean out the mouthwash taste better.

Waters free and drying time not a big deal if your rotating out a few attys at a time.. meaning while one is cleaning and drying your using a freshly clean one, so big deal and no hurry.

this is the correct answer, plus not everybody wants a bottle of everclear sitting around...there is the cost factor too, the proh is already killing us, it does seem to work out fine if you cut the proh with 50% water but your juice may vare, you may need full strength to clean it up. Please don't rinse your mouth out with proh and then SAVE it for use on your atty's later eeeewwww!

This actually helped. My first atty produces very little vapor. Got a big bottle and a 99 cent travel bottle of the crest recommended. Popped the atty into the travel size bottle and put the cap on. placed the bottle on its side shook lightly several times for 15 min. Rinsed with hot water and blew out several times. Placed in the toaster oven for 20 min at 150 degrees. Primed the atty while still pretty warm and attached a full cart and let sit a couple min.
When that worked for my old atty I also tried it on my current atty which was producing a pretty awful burnt taste. Also worked for me.
I know some people said they could taste the crest but I dont think I noticed it. I also dont think my taste buds are very sensitive.
By the way......dont warm up the travel bottle too long or it will melt. 20 sec in the microwave is too long. This happened on the second atty. Think I did 15 sec the first time. Keep an eye on it.

I hate to see you guys going through so much trouble trying to clean your atomizers. Then you have to flush out the mouth wash and go through an extended drying time. It's a lot of wasted motion.
Pure grain alcohol will do a much better job. It won't put anything into your atomizer that requires flushing or purging. In fact you really don't have to anything but blow it out, drip some juice on the bridge, install a full cart and begin vaping. This hasn't been proven yet but some suspect that adding some PGA to your nic juice may extend it's life a little longer. I am trying to determine that right now but it will be hard to prove.
One thing is sure, your atomizer is going to fail. So far no one has a cure for the eventual demise of an atomizer. All this cleaning is just a temporary relief of a chronic build up of carbon deposits.

Is pure grain alcohol the same as ethyl alcohol/ethanol?

Has anyone tried an ultrasonic cleaner on atomizers? I have with varying results.
I've tried a weak dilute of simplegreen as well.
Any thoughts or insights into ultrasonic cleaning?

I think that there is nothing that hasn't been tried. Some work and some don't. There is a search feature in the forum that you can use to see all the many times all of this has been tried.
The PGA is pure drinkable alcohol. Some use everclear some use vodka.

This is exactly what I do. I've been rotating the same 4 attys for about 140 days? (or whatever it says in my sig line) The GA cleans well, dries ASAP and leaves no nasty aftertaste.
