I tried the crest pro cleaning, swiped my son's bottle. Worked great and rinsed with warm water and then soaked in Bacardi 151 amazing the amount of gunk the Bacardi removed. So i bypassed the crest soak and cleaned 2 more atty's with the Bacardi 10 min soak(swirl periodically) works great and dries quick.

I always soak in lemon juice instead of cola because it's more acidic. My latest test is to do the 15 minute Crest, then follow my overnight soak in lemon juice. Rinse/soak in water again to dilute everything out and then dry overnight.
The lemon juice has worked really well for me, about once a week on average. I'm hoping/thinking the lemon juice will also cancel out the mint mouthwash taste. I soaked in Crest my first time (sorry Sattec) and the mouthwash flavor was pretty much embedded in there for a while.

P.S. Still waiting on the "next level" of this process.
P.P.S. Why can't you have a normal round satellite dish like everyone else. The neighbors are beginning to talk!

I think that was me.
Not genius, just laziness (the true mother of all invention).
By the way, I did soak in lemon juice overnight after the mouthwash and didn't have a minty taste.

Quick question for the knowledgable people on here. A couple days ago I did my first cleaning of an atty. (Joye 510) I had used it for a solid 3 or so weeks and it suddenly was producing zero vapor and minimal to nonexistent hit. I used the Crest pro mouthwash method to do it, submerged the atty in a little tupperware container and swished it around gently for about 15 minutes. Took it out and rinsed it in hot water, then spent time blowing the water out through the battery end. After that I decided to try something I had read...I proceeded to suck in several times, good long drags, to try to quickly speed up the drying process.
Now is when I probably should have been more patient. After my "drying process," I waited maybe only 5 minutes before putting in 2 drops of e-juice (dripping) to try priming it, and no vapor. 2 more and still no vapor. Then I filled up a cart and put 2 more drops in and nothing. I decided to let it sit overnight and the following day with the full cart facing up, since I had heard it could take quite a few drops and some time to get it primed and working again.
Today, it works pretty darn well, good vapor, basically all is good. Except, when I push the battery button (manual), theres a noise (not too loud but definately there) similar to the sound of suction or burning, if you get what I mean. Also, when I put my lips on the cart to suck on it, there actually seems to be a little bit of suction to it, aka my lips get sucked onto the cart just a little bit. Overall, I'm not too worried and just happy that I could "revive" the once-dead atty. But the suction noise along with the slight suction on my lips is odd. Any thoughts? Should I try cleaning it again and let it fully dry out this next time? Thanks.

There's something that's not been considered yet: Why does the Crest work?
Could somebody post the ingredient list from the Crest label? Having an effective cleaning solution minus the minty-fresh aftertaste might be a desirable goal.

From some website:
# The active ingredient in Crest Pro-Health Rinse's formula is 0.07% Cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC).
* The active ingredient in Crest Pro-Health Rinse is currently recognized as safe and effective by the
FDA monograph. The label meets current
FDA monograph standards.
# The formula's inactive ingredients may include, but are not limited to, water, glycerin, flavor, poloxamer 407, sodium saccharin, methyl paraben, propyl paraben, propolyne glycol, blue 1, yellow 6, and green 3.
Cetylpyridinium chloride just appears to be a disinfectant.

It isn't the Cetylpyridinium chloride, not water, not glycerin, not propylene glycol, not the saccarin, or the colorings.
Maybe the flavoring, could the mint be important?
Poloxamers are amphiphilic, that is to say that some elements of their structure are hydrophilic and other elements are lipophilic, there might be something here. Interesting that this combination of qualities also describes soaps.

Could not letting the atty dry before using it damage the atty? Oh and I’ve heard comments implying that dripping directly on the atty reduces its life time. Just wanted to know if there’s any truth in that. Have a joye 510 atty. Thanks

Not letting the atomizer dry won't hurt it, it just won't work very well until it is dry.
And I have never understood why anyone would say dripping reduces atomizer life.
That doesn't make any sense to me at all, and I think it is one of those myths.
