I was doing this when I first saw the spring mod. I was actually just putting the spring in the other way... From top to bottom and putting a very small piece of filler at the top... Then a straw down the side for air vacuum relief. It works quite well. I will have to try this one some day.

But after using the AFS (GG's newest invention) for a few days my days of messing with carts and dripping are over for good.

With the 510 cartridge, the design keeps the reservoir almost completely capped off from the air pocket built behind the juice. The very small gap between the cart lip pressed against the bridge area is fairly sealed with the small amount of (proper) filler covering the spring. There are two pin holes on the outer lip of the cart (they're above the flat sides of the cart) that let the air through from the vaporization area, but are too small for liquid to squeeze through on its own.

You'd have to suck pretty hard to get liquid up through those holes if the cart is fully seated.

This method doesn't work on my 401 carts though. Liquid leaks all over the place on my mine

I tried the straw mod- had some leakage problems 'til I found out what I was doing wrong (had to do more reading). This mod seems to be working right off the bat. (510 user here)

    Thank you!

i tried puitting the spring in straight up and down, ended up flooding my atty,

redid the same thing with more filler (the whole cart filler on top with a bit of juice behind - this worked well

still cant get the damn thing to go in sideways tho

theres a defintly a kind of a trick to it cut the spring a lil more it dont need to be a real tight fit ..

If you are using the right size spring you can also spin the spring 180 degrees and the lip will still catch it from falling down to the bottom of the cart Ive tried it both ways both work just as well...

Glad to see alot of ex dripers ... thats when you know it works

If anybody already has this working with 901 whistle tip carts, please share your method.

If not... I reckon I'll forge ahead blindly!
