Default Motorola Razr charger to charge your PCC

I thought I would share some information I found out last night. I left the USB cord to my PCC charger at work last night and my PCC ran out of power. I noticed that the part the charger plugs into resembled a Motorola Razr charger so I thought I would give it a try. I took my extra battery out and just charged the pcc as a precaution. It worked. I didn't leave it on for long but the Razr charger worked. I know the Razr was a popular phone at one time so I am sure a lot of people may have an old phone with the charger laying around. I just thought I would share what I learned in the event you are desperate to charge your PCC like I was.

just be careful with it. I'm sure some electricians will kick my but for sharing this info but I hope if there are any reasons not to do this, they will tell us on this thread.

Ahh yes the good ol days of Flex&Flashin' the Razr!! also of note is that alot of digital camera and MP3 player/ebook reader cords work with your PCC, the iPod mains charger is a useful power source for passthroughs and your kitchen radio mains cord will replace the cord that came with your 901 charger

Each charger should have specs on it, like voltage and amperage, etc. If these are not the same or very close between chargers, you may end up killing the PCC. Same size plug does not necessarily mean compatible. But if it works, and there is no serious heating, then its probably a good fit!

It's just a mini USB cord, isn't it?

My PCC only came with the USB charger and my PDA wall charger uses a mini USB so I've been using it for 2 months now with no ill effects.
The charger puts out the same voltage /current as a USB2.0 port.

The charger for the motorola bluetooth earpiece also charges a PCC for the Joye306/510. Good to know I can also charge my bluetooth with the USB cable- thank you for the tip!
