    Default Cleaning Blue Foam

Decided to try the blue foam, but after washing the foam in hot water, washing with a pinch of detergent, and soaking in peroxide I could still smell it. I then put all the sheets in the top rack of the dishwasher, and ran it through an entire light cycle with no soap.

Worked great, leaving no smell or film, and the only thing I taste is the flavor of the liquid in the cart. Just thought I'd share for anyone else who might also be able to taste/smell the new foam after trying to wash with other methods.

I rinse it out under hot water for a few minutes.
That seems to work fine for me.

    But the dishwasher is intriguing.

Default Blue Foam should be cleaned

    Hi-

    Thanks for posting -

I didn't wash or clean the blue foam and I just spent 3 days in troubleshooting hell trying to get rid of a horrible bitter taste in my new SD.

Washed foam thoroughly w/water and dishsoap and let dry overnite (like an air filter) and now the blue foam is the best packing material I've ever used.

Gives a great tasting, very reproducible vape just using it as the entire cart packing.(no springs, wires or other voodoo)

The blue foam obviously comes coated with something that volatilizes in the atomizer.

My new SD Mk2 is now perfect.

I second the dishwasher method. Just tried this over the weekend and it worked great! There must be some kind of coating on the blue foam and running it through the dishwasher completely got rid of all the smell and taste from the blue foam

Must be a genetic thing. I can't taste a thing on new, uncleaned foam but my son makes a face unless we clean it. Dishwasher works a treat on it!

Thank you! The smell was holding me back.
I washed it and washed it and that smell/taste was still there.

DO NOT use any soap! Vaping Palmolive is not fun.

I put mine in a colander and use the sprayer on my sink at full blast and as hot as it will go for a minute to 90 seconds. It works great.

Agree with angelique. Most soaps have an added fragrance and that fragrance seems to attach to the blue foam, flavoring it. In my case, vaping dawn was not fun lol.
