Terraphon--this is by far the biggest breakthough in solving the Atomizer issue--As you readily show, that atomizer was like many that I have, very little heat and will not fire anymore. I think that was what the "Cleaning Cycle" was poorly attempting to do, but could not break the carbon up like your method does. I used that Atomizer for 10 days before it went downhill and I gave up on it on day 11. One question--How long did you let the atomizer soak in the Pepsi ? --Again everyone, a full shout out for Terraphon with this major breakthough-- Thanks-Sun

This one was soaked for about 2 hours before rinsing it and then going through the heat-it-up, drop it in water thing. Now...doing that step will require some gear...I suggest looking at one of the mod threads and building a battery box but leaving the wires hanging...one wire goes in the hole, the other touches the threads...that will cause the atomizer to heat up. When it's glowing a nice bright read, give it a bath in ice cold water and then take it out and let it drain. |

Can I use the manual switch USB to heat up the atomizer? think it would do the same.. Can this method be used a preventative ie. weekly cleaning? would be great! easier than all this boiling stuff!

I would think that this would be a PERFECT weekly maintenance. For weekly use, though, I would try the soda water route...something with less ingredients is much less likely to damage the atomizer than something that's full of sugar, syrup, etc... I'm about to give this one another vape and see how it's faring. EDIT : Also, yes...a manual switch would be wonderful at heating up your atomizer for a nice water dip...you'll just have to unscrew it REALLY fast |

That is some great stuff!!! But I would like to point out that if you take care of your atomizer well in the first place that it wont need this type of deep cleaning to often.. Keep the atomizer moist and it will last a long time.. Phil Still not getting forum topic reply notifications!!! P.s. Terraphon PM me if you still wanna try the new e-liquid. |

I used to clean my car battery with baking soda and water. Might work here as well, wonder why I never thought of that earlier? It worked better than coke as there was not sugar left behind after, much easier to clean up. Nice find terraphon, nice find indeed.

Great video and ideas Terraphon! Thanks to both you and Sun for the teamwork!!! I have a penstyle and a couple of dead atomisers, completely dead. I'm going to soak them in soda water to see if anything happens. What strength would you mix it and do you think using distilled water would make any difference? (Avoiding mineral deposits, chlorine, etc.) Off topic: I had the pleasure of sitting front row center for a Phil Collins concert about 10 yrs ago. ...Unforgettably great show!!! I thought about "In the Air Tonight" with the way these great ideas are coming to you.

Phil : Besides keeping the atomizers moist, is there a routine maintenance program you would suggest? I'm really...really...REALLY on the verge of getting a pen-style but I'm positively MORTIFIED by some of the stories I've heard of batteries and atomizers going t.ts up in very short time periods. As it is with my evo, I'm almost 45 days into my original equipment and it's all still going like a mad freak. I don't want to end up spending more on parts than I ever did on analogs, ya' know? |
