I have no idea how to go about drilling through aluminum, SS, or brass, and I wouldn't want to mess up my stuff

Okay, I am looking into mods... a few I like and see the benfits but am not sure...
What are all the components needed for a mod?

I am coming to accept that the 401 is not a modders dream so... with all things needed when buying a mod- Can someone make a list please?

I am looking for something showing

The Mod
Battery- all options that can be used per mod
connector- all that can be used per each
adapter if it is needed or optional
cartridge/mouthpiece (I don't know if this is already on it or if it comes w/ atty)
Atty types - ALL that can be used...
Charger
etc (I don't know if I have left something out)

For us that are oblivious to Mods and are interested if we could get the info for all mods in one place... Can Suppliers post here or someone who uses the Mods give the info I need?
Thx to anyone who can help me out...
If there is something needed that I have left out, if that could also be noted...

Hey,

Just noticed yet another "commercial" batt mod sporting a 10440.

Wondered if anyone was thinking of just producing a 10440 manual batt, like the original manual batts for 510,901,801,etc.., and just selling them as well, ecig batts!

With a small add-on, could probably have them charging on/in existing hardware for existing batts.

I have two ideas I wanted to share/suggest. I haven't done any mods myself, or read in the modder's forums, so forgive me if these are old ideas. In fact, if they have already been suggested or tried, I would be interested in posted links to the relevant threads.

The first idea is to combine the idea of a box mod with a passthru. You make the part of the passthru that connects to the atty, with a long wire cable that goes down to the box mod where the power is. You could have the box in your pocket or on a belt clip. Then you could have the advantages of a box mod with the more analog-like look and experience you get with a passthru.

The other idea revolves around the general problem with not being able to make our own male and female atty and battery connectors.

This is inspired by the solution provided by push-on cable TV plug connectors. These could be built in both male and female versions, sized to fit the battery or atomizer in question. If an appropriately sized preexisting push-on connector could not be found, I think the template for a passable push-on could be fashioned from sheet metal and then bent around into a cylinder. Admittedly it would not be as effective not being of spring steel, but it's a possibility it could work. Perhaps rubber could be put on the inside or outside to give it the requisite springiness. While it would not stay on as well as a screw-on, of course, how well it does stay on would depend entirely on the quality of the design and construction.

Another possibility for making a screw-on connector would be to wrap an appropriately sized wire around the threads of a male connector until you got a good fit, and then glue that into a hard plastic or metal cylinder of the appropriate size. The wire would act as threads. This approach would be unwieldy to make a male connector to screw into a female connector, though.

Thanks for reading about and commenting on these ideas.

I was at work today, stealth vaping at my my PV under my desk as usual  and it got me thinking. If I had asthma and I puffed on an inhaler that blew out smoke nobody would care.

Anyone modded their PV to fit inside a medical inhaler? :thumb:

I want a PV the size of a pack of analogs with lighter.

1. Start with the batteries, two celphone batteries, built in charging circut, if batt low just plug in like celphone.
2. Vape bottle screws into unit with the wick in the bottle. Capillary action or gravity feed if nessessary.
3. Atomizer can be the size of a dime with a good sized wick to produce as much or as little vapor as desired. Perhaps two small instead of one large?
4. flip up vaping tube so I can adjust to my most comfortable angle.

I carried analogs for years, seems to be a size we are comfortable with, would fit in a celphone holster if too heavy for shirt pocket.

Would be helpful if it was modular to make changing flavors, batteries etc. easier.

The larger size would allow the brilliant people in this forum far more creative capacity to design a better atomizer.

Because it would not look like a analog it might ease the minds of the anti-smoker campainers, or fly under their radar.

Lastly: Bigger is better... Just ask the ladies.;)
