I quit a week before my body make-over surgery, and I'm doing great! No desire for an analog. I'm so thrilled...I added a banner to brag a bit!
Next, my surgery went very well. I had a tummy tuck, breast lift and implants to undo what 27yrs of ignoring myself did to me. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG TO DO THIS?????????
The doctor removed 17lbs of skin, fatty tissue and stretched muscle. I lost a whole size in 7hrs!!! When I woke up I was fine, when I tried to get up and walk I felt like someone had stitched my knees to my chin it was so tight, but I feel so good now 2.5 weeks after.
I've had to go buy smaller PJ's since that's what I'm living in for now since I still have drains in, but from a 2X or 3X to a size Large already! And I still have 10 weeks or so more to go before all the swelling is gone and the doctor figures I'll be down another 15lbs or so by then.
I'm leaving tomorrow for TX. My son is returning from Iraq and is expected in on Tuesday. My S/O and I are driving his car out to him, we'll spend Thanksgiving with him and then fly home. I am so excited!
I feel like a whole new person. With what has been going on in my life the last 18months, I deserve this new start, and I"m going to make the best of life from now on! A new me, a new time in my life, and a whole new outlook. Less weight, no analogs and I'm feeling good!!!! Who could ask for more?

My 2 year old Sibe has been sick on and off for a year... we have finally gotten him situated by consulting with a holistic Vet. The Vaccine reaction he had last year wreaked havoc on his immune system
My entire family got piggy flu.. it was icky... and I could not vape at all during - so I was back to analogs for a while - just started vaping again last week. Back to square one now...
My golden puppy went for her spay last week, the anesthesia did not agree with her, she was very sick for two days. Then her body played a cruel trick on her and she developed a false pregnancy, she is driving us nuts, she is so stressed :cry:.
So needless to say, I am vaping up a storm right now 8-o. For a while I could not post on here either... not sure what was up with that, I promise I did not do anything bad.

Thu, 12 Nov 2009 01:47:45 GMTI talked to a few of you lovely ladies in the chat a couple nights ago. I had my surgery and it went well. I'm back home and recovering now. It hurts a lot, but it will get better. Just wanted to give you gals an update. :)
(On the tenth, yesterday, I had two discectomies for two herniated discs, one at L3-4 and the other at L4-5... Those two have been herniated for years but as it's fine for insurance companies to drop you for being sick, I didn't have health insurance for three years and had to suffer through them with no treatment. I finally got Medicaid about two months ago. I've had four herniated discs total in my life so far and I'm 22- all herniated for no reason, never had an accident or back trauma. They've been L3-4, L4-5 herniated twice, and L5-S1.)
I'm so glad I quit smoking and switched to an e-cig little over six weeks ago, before I knew I was going to have the surgery. I know that not smoking is really going to help me recover. :) Yay for vaping! Yay for this forum for helping me through it! I lurk far more than I post, but so many here have been helpful in guiding me through my transition from smoking to vaping, even if they don't know it.

Has anyone else tried the Pumpkin Spice flavor? I just got it yesterday, and was excited to try it tonight. Nothing beats a pumpkin pie this time of year!
Well, let me just say....it was awful! I know everybody's taste is different, but WOW! This stuff literally made me gag. It tastes like soap with rosemary in it. I can't taste any pumpkin at all, and I can't get the flavor out of my brand-new atty. It'll be an hour-long alcohol soak to get rid of it.
I'm really surprised, as all her flavors are good. True, there are some I've tried that aren't my favorites....chocolate, for example, I find pretty bland, but the Thin Mints more than makes up for it! Still, everything's vapable, even is it isn't on my hit list.
But not this stuff. I'm just curious if anyone else has tried it and what they thought. I'm assuming I got a bad batch, or something weird like that.
If you're interested, I've got a brand-new bottle of PS for sale.........:(

We had a Vitamix show at our Sam's Club here not too long back and I wanted that... But of course the price tag was steep (even less than retail for the "show special") It was very pricey & I just didn't have it at the time to spare for an "extra", but if I did at the time I would have bought it!
Anyway, just wondered jad anyone seen this and what your thoughts are... I am getting one- maybe at the end of the month (I hate payments for small items, so will just purchase it)- I told hubby it could be my Christmas present...

And even though it was rather cold outside, it was warm in my house amongst my family and friends.
As my son was getting ready to leave, I saw an old woman pulling a cart outside. I didn't think much of it but as my son pulled off, I noticed her coming up my driveway. When I asked if I could help her, in broken English, she asked me if I would like to buy an acorn squash from her.
My very first reply was "No, sorry, I really don't need one" and when I saw the look on her face, I quickly changed my mind and told her to hold on a minute. Inside, I had a 5, 10 and 20 dollar bill. I grabbed the $10, folded it up, handed it to her, she gave me the squash, thanked me profusely and walked away. She had no idea whether that was $10 or $1 bill that I gave her but she was full of joy in any case.
When I stepped back in my house and looked around at all I have, particularly with all my friends and family there, I shed a tear for that old lady walking on that cold day with her cart, hoping to earn a few bucks for her labor. And I thanked God for all that I am so lucky to have.
But it haunted me and in retrospect, I realized I should have just given her the $20 instead of the $10. I have spent well over $1000 on ecig stuff alone in the past year....the least I could have done was give this poor woman $20 for this worthwhile cause. And it's not like I couldn't afford it.
Well, I'm still kicking myself but trust me, if I ever see this lady again, she will get more than she hoped for and I....well I will get peace of mind.

Last year I did Cornish Hens for a crowd, it was so cool being able to serve up a bird for each person. This year we had a friend who bagged a doe on the edge of her Alfalfa field and is giving us about 10 lbs of meat and we are going to do Venison and Quail for a crowd.

I chalked it up to coincidence, but the last 2 or 3 weeks have been really bad. I had been doing better - no more coughing, and I was sleeping great for a change. But now I've been having a dry, hacking cough, wheezing, and feeling "air hungry" and unable to catch my breath. I never breathed this badly when I smoked!
I saw a doctor today, and had several breathing tests before and after a nebulizer treatment. Unfortunately, I've been diagnosed with severe COPD. It looks like I waited too long to quit. So now I'm learning to "embrace the suck" as we say in the military, only this time it's literally in the form of my new inhalers (Spiriva and others).
On the other hand, my doctor asked me how I had quit. When I showed her my PV, she was excited, and said she'd heard about them, and was even thinking about getting one for herself, as she used to be a smoker and still had cravings! I may give her a starter kit as a gift! Ha-ha! She had no problem with my using it.
So, if you or someone you know is undecided about quitting for good, I say "DO IT". Don't wait too long like I did, or you may regret it. COPD can be insidious and sneak up on you if you're not careful. Best of luck to you all.

We don't get snow. And when we do it lasts a few hours and melts away. Maybe 1/2 inch if we are lucky.
It has never snowed this early before. Usually december/january if we are lucky. ( from my memory)
We do not normally get out our coats and wintery stuff until Closer to thanksgiving if not later. Heaters don't get turned on for another month or so
Heck I used my a/c just yesterday. Today I'm in my flannel pj's with some nice wool type house shoes trying to stay warm!
This is so neat. I love cold weather:w00t:. I hope it stays for awhile! Though the kids aren't to happy because Halloween is so close. But they will just have to be ready to wear their jackets and not be out as long.
