Hi

I am new to the forum, I have played around with the disposable ecigs you can pick up in the supermarkets and used an ecig a few years ago without issues.
I decided to get some decent kit and read around the forums and ended up getting the

Joyetech eGo Twist VV battery 1000mAh
Vision EGO V3 Stardust CE4 (have read a few reports that these fail so will be changing)
Original Deluxe / Dunhill eLiquid 18mg from ukecigstore.com 70/30 mix PG/VG (picked based on reviews on the store)

I tried a few drags (I pull vapour into mouth and then breath into lungs) and pretty much straight away I had a strange feeling of tightness and shortness of breath. It was nothing too major but not the nicest experience, I can only think it is the liquid as I have not had this when using the disposable ones.

Your advice would be very much appreciated not only on the issue but also on the kit I have purchased. I am thinking of getting a different clero when these fail and also a spare battery but a shorter one.

Thanks

Hi everyone,

I quit smoking about eight months ago and have been vaping ever since with no discernable side-effects at all. About six weeks ago I contracted what I thought was a cold, manifesting in a low-level cough, but then it just went on and on. Eventually, I decided to stop using the e-cig for a while to see what happens and my symptoms seemed to fade away. After a couple of days, I felt normal again. When I start vaping again, back comes the sore-chest/throat and cough. I've tried this a few times and the symptoms are definitely triggered by the e-cig. I'm pretty concerned and more than a little disappointed - my delicious Liberro Turkish Blend is just sitting there looking at me and I can't use it without getting ill.I don't want to stop vaping and I don't particularly want to contribute to the besmirching of e-cigarettes' reputation but if they're not safe, they're not safe.

I should add that these symptoms began to occur shortly after trying a clearomizer and new juice from a new vendor. However, I've returned to the stuff I used to use which is now manifesting as toxic as well. Funnily enough, different juices affect me in slightly different ways and at slightly different speeds. Some will give me a sensation of swelling in my lower throat pretty much right away while some, my Turkish Blend for instance, seemed fine the first day I used it (yesterday) and then woke me up in the night with an awful burning cough in my chest, the soreness of which I can still feel.

Thoughts? Has anyone else had this experience?

So I just found out through this forum, that many vanillas are very dangerous to your health and can possibly cause lung failiure due to something called diacetcyl

http://www.osha.gov/dsg/guidance/diacetyl-guidance.html

Diacetyl chemical in artificial butter popcorn linked to Alzheimer's plaque build-up - HealthPop - CBS News

Well I just bought 30 ml killa vanilla and now hate to waste it. Also reading that most ejuices contain some sort of variant of diacetyl that even vendors do not know, even if they tell you they do not use it.

Then I was reading more and found that inhaling cinnamon is bad too.

So my question is what juices are really safe for you if any to inhale with many of these food flavorings? vanilla and cinnamon is out. Are the fruity ones safe?

I am tired of spending and wasting money on ejuice to find out just as bad as smoking in just different ways.

Can someone list some ejuice and where to get it, where it is completely 100% safe?

Also I really think these vendors should start to put up warnings about vanilla and cinnamon, if I had known about it would never have purchased it

Hi all,

I've been off the cigs and vaping for about 11 weeks now!

In the past few weeks I have been waking up in the morning with a sort of dried up blood in my mouth. It is especially noticeable inside my mouth behind the lips and I have never has a problem like this before.

I have noticed some splitting or cracking in this area behind my lips inside my mouth.

What could be this possible cause of this?

I am vaping 80%PG 20% VG juices primarily from MBV in their standard blend.

It's not an issue during the day, just when I wake up in the mornings!

I am a mouth breather when I sleep.

Could this be caused by dehydration from Vaping PG?

Well, it happened.

I'm photosensitive, and it causes me to have migraine-related anxiety attacks and depression. This weekend was bright & warm, and man, it hit me like a sledgehammer!

Yesterday I stuck with vaping, and felt horrible all day, no matter what I did (I didn't smoke at all). Today my state of mind got worse--I felt like a glass powder keg.

I remembered what I'd read about the MAOIs in analogs, and how one in particular, Beta Carboline, hasn't been replicated by BP - it comes solely from combusted tobacco, so it wouldn't be in WTA.

I couldn't take it anymore, so I pulled out my husband's pack of analogs and have been switching back and forth between analogs & vaping today. Even though I've only had a few, the difference has been profound - I'm smiling, hugging my kids and feeling much, much more positive. So, now I know - on the days when the sun's making me bonkers, I'll mix a few analogs into the mix, although vaping remains my first love - as much as I dig vaping, I'm not willing to sacrifice my mental health for it.

Does anyone else do this? Mix & match, depending on your state of mind?

Looking forward to hearing your input while I pray for rain! :smokie:

I interested on knowing the real benefits of vaping (that doesn't mean benefits of stopping analog smoke)

for example I've read that caffeine for example

"A growing body of research shows that coffee drinkers, compared to nondrinkers, are:

less likely to have type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's disease, and dementia

have fewer cases of certain cancers, heart rhythm problems, and strokes

taken from webmd

I know it helps you concentrate, relaxes you. I just recently heard of a testimony from a new vaper here that it has helped tremendously with his shuttering etc..

are any studies on this?

it could be benefits of either nicotine, PG or VG or all

With a respiratory infection & pink eye to boot, I couldn't get in to see my GP until tomorrow. So I went to the local walk-in clinic.(reputable, associated with the local hospital group). The doctor I saw must have been fresh out of med school, maybe half my age. In conversation about medical history, I told him I had quit smoking 3 years ago, been using e-cigs since. Expecting a positive response like I have with other medical professionals, I was taken aback - he felt that is just as bad a choice as smoking. I'm sitting there thinking "I could have been smoking these last three years" - NOT. I just figured that a younger doctor would be more open to alternatives to smoking.

It's bad enough with the negative publicity about e-cigs, internet scams and mass-marketed sub standard products but the average smoker that wants to find a way out has to deal with doctors that parrot the FDA. Enough time has passed since the introduction of e-cigs and millions have used them, how hard is it for the FDA, AMA & ACS to stop lying to the public?

"steps off soapbox"
