I recently bought some TastyPuff flavors, which are very sweet, they just need a little something to add to the mix, to balance them out a little, thought I'd try tobacco, but can't seem to find it.

i found some info on tobacco flavoring. there is a lot of info regarding the chemicals used for flavoring tobacco. here is just an example i found. maybe this is why it is so impossible to recreate the true taste of a traditional cig that we all crave. or at least a lot of us anyhow. i believe with the right mix of Virginia absolute, burley absolute, along with seedmans stuff one could get a good tobacco flavored base. im sure you could then add other flavor combos to that for endless goodnees!!!! here is the link for an interesting read. im no expert just an info freak! hope this helps!
http://legacy.library.ucsf.edu:8080/.../Szzw41f00.pdf
FLAVOR PRODUCTION
• FLAVOR COMPLEXITY
• SOME FLAVORS PRODUCED REQUIRE JUST
A FEW COMPONENTS WHILE OTHERS MAY
CONTAIN 20 -30. WHY?
• VANILLA FLAVOR IS A GOOD EXAMPLE .
FOR CERTAIN APPLICATIONS, E.G.,
INEXPENSIVE ICE CREAM, PRODUCERS
HAVE FOUND THAT A SINGLE FLAVOR
CHEMICAL - VANILLIN - MAKES A
SATISFACTORY FLAVOR. BUT TO MAKE A
HIGH QUALITY VANILLA FLAVOR MAY REQUIRE
15 - 20 CHEMICALS. IN NATURE, HOWEVER,
OVER 140 FLAVOR CHEMICALS ARE FOUND IN
NATURAL VANILLA. THE FLAVORISTS JOB IS
TO FIND THE IMPORTANT MATERIALS THAT
PROVIDE THE DESIRED FLAVOR EFFECT AND
YET USE ONLY THE MINIMUM NUMBER REQUIRED .
• THERE ARE OVER 1800 FLAVOR MATERIALS ON
THE GRAS LIST. AND MOST FLAVORS PRODUCED
IN NATURE CONTAIN HUNDREDS (OR THOUSANDS
IN THE CASE OF THE TOBACCO LEAF) . WE
MUST BE THANKFUL THAT THE FLAVORIST CAN
SELECT MANY LESS TO OBTAIN SIMILAR EFFECTS .

Can anyone tell me the best (safety considerations included) flavors to use for DIY, with the most variety? I see so much about Lorann oils, but not all of them are safe to use for flavoring liquid because of the sugar content, right? What I need is a large variety of *safe* flavors :)

Ok, I apologize for the naivety and that I didn't scour the forums as thoroughly as I probably should have, but I'm just curious as to whether other flavor extracts can be used besides LorAnn-- something that I could pick up at the local supermarket... Does just any kind of flavor extract work, or does it have to be a specific concentration, with or without oils, etc? I mean, if I were to just go and pick up a generic bottle of vanilla extract (artificial or natural) from the baking goods section-- would this work? Or is LorAnn something special? I could order things online, but I would prefer to just go to the Tesco (like a European Wal-Mart) and pick this kind of thing up; cuts down on my waiting times :D

I'm sorry, I just couldn't find a very good "getting started" guide that explained which kinds of oils to get besides just "LorAnn" or other things that for me, in Slovakia, are hard to get shipped here (Slovak Post isn't the greatest).

Thanks in advance.

I have sourced VG liquids from a few vendors now and each one tastes like soap. I have vaped unflavored VG and it tastes like soap.

Johnson Creek's old formula VG juices never tasted like this. Their new formula Reduced PG doesn't taste like this either. I have used all of these juices on a KR808D1 and Protege/510.

So I have to ask: these small shops and others making their own liquid - a bunch of them here on ECF - are they using the same VG that is used for soap? Can anyone actually verify?

Or perhaps I am just nuts. And no, I do not vape in the shower.

Hi all!

I wonder if you could tell me the difference between generic glycerin and vegetable glycerin. I bought glycerin today from drugstore (it is our local production glycerin, not imported from somewhere). The instruction said that it can be used both internally and externally. But it is just glycerin not vegetable glycerin. And I asked in many drugstores and no one heard about vegetable glycerin. What is the difference?? Are they the same? And, what is the most important, can I use the glycerin I bought for smoking?
I did not find any relevant information on the web as well.
Thank you in advance.
