Word of a NATIONAL VAPE-IN!!

Looks like people in a few different states are doing this on July 11th. There's mention of maybe doing it on their capital's steps... and media involvement and donations from suppliers. If we could do something on a grand scale in the heart of Florida tourist land, that would be phenom! Anyone on board with helping out? I have some contacts here locally that I can work, media contact is no problem but I'm too new to the vaping thing to really have supplier contacts. I know Smoking Everywhere is based here in Florida somewhere... Mind you this IS NOT a protest!!! Merely an opportunity for us to share with our neighbors and communities the changes that vaping has made in our lives! Education is the only way... and remember how skeptical you were when you got your first kit? There are people out there who NEED this to happen in their lives, who are far more fearful of change and not being able to go without nicotine and that fear enables them to continue killing themselves! Let's help them the way we helped ourselves!! Let's do this!!

Id be interested in participating and helping. I'm not sure how many suppliers we have in FL, I know there is a fairly new one in Orlando, Smoke 51 is in Hallandale and Juice Addiction is here in central Florida also I believe Totally Wicked,USA is in Miami area we could probably get some support from some of them anyway!

BTW-I just saw a thread on Rob at Vapor Country-he is suppling the juice for a Houston event and he's a good guy-he might help us I could ask? (he's in Maryland)

Brilliant work V!! As soon as we get some others on board I'll start with emailing suppliers! Don't want to over-tax the generosity of suppliers and I think it would be great if we got the Florida businesses on board with it... free advertising and of course stimulation to the local economy! What do you think?

I'll contact LaceyUnderall. I believe her company (Instead) is based out of Altamonte Springs, and she is also heavily involved with the ECA. which, depending on how you look at them, could be a plus. I know we have probably 2 or 3 more suppliers based out of Florida besides the ones already mentioned, as well, but I'll need to go back and look through the list on these forums to see if I can remember who they are. I wouldn't look so much for suppliers to supply anything for this, but would really like them to represent themselves at such an event.

Another thing that needs to be discussed, since the 11th seems to be just around the corner, is a location for a vape-in. It needs to be a place that will have a lot of traffic, but at the same time not be impossible to set up such an event. So someplace like on Disney property would be out, but we might be able to do it (for Central Florida, anyways) at the Orange County Administration Building or perhaps Orlando City Hall. Of course, such an event would have to be during the day to be effective. If at night, the downtown club district offers a ton of places that may be receptive to allowing this.

Meh, since I looked at the calendar and now see that the 11th is a Saturday, a government facility is probably out as a good place. So, please, throw some ideas out there, and I'll try to get this old brain of mine going and think of some 'actual' good ideas myself.

Smoke Free is in Lake Mary above Orlando. I think Smoking Everywhere is Orlando based.
I have both husband and mom who are disabled, I can't leave them often. But whatever I can do in regard to research and contacts, I would be happy to do.

Mist-stix (not sure exactly where in FL) and vapornine (St. Pete) are also listed Florida suppliers.

Depending on location and time of day, I would do my best to attend. Just a reminder about a time and location - keep in mind our afternoon thunderstorms. We don't want to be standing outside during one of our afternoon severe thunderstorms! We could be the ones getting vaporized! LOL

Sounds good everyone!! Lets keep brainstorming. It might be nice if we were able to get mouthpiece covers and a couple of e-cigs to let people who are really interested try them-thats what sold me on my first....just a thought.
