one of my favourites was the truth about minis. used to be a link to it in a sticky in the old forum and i think it deserves a place here..gives quite a detailed analysis of the mini market

The TRUTH of mini e-cigarettes.

i think it turned alot of people onto the 901 which has proven popular even though i went for a pen-style in the end. who-ever wrote the review has never posted anything else unless s/he decided apon a new handle.

i think the problem with "threads eventually disappearing" is that the general discussion section holds the majority the threads and people arent going to be digging through 600 odd threads to find the older and sometimes better posts, when they arent plainly recognisable and catorgorized.

i think you did an excellent job smokey but perhaps there should be a section called Newbie queries, so this section take the brunt of common questions that seem to litter the general discussion thread. (so which one should i buy, what is dripping etc {also guilty})

also mods should see to it that threads are moved to the correct section of the site, if they have this capability (attention mods ;>) which would also serve to motivate posters to do the same. often people on forums will post in the section where they see the most threads as they think their post will not be seen otherwise which is not true

also smokey, is the only way to make a favourite to "subscribe to this thread"? that's what i have been doing so far. but sometimes i think there are threads there that i didnt subscribe to. havent really checked on this.

also i remember you were to introduce a tagging system but i have looked for it and i dont think it is in place yet right? i do like the star-rating system, though i have not yet used it and am unsure how it works, but it could proove to be a method to discern the best threads.

anyway..sorry for the long reply..perhaps i should have take my own advice and post this in the forum suggestion thread
take care

We do try! Sometimes inappropriately posted threads get missed, but by and large we're pretty good, no?

perhaps you do, i hadnt noticed. i guess in other forums i am used to seeing, "this thread has been moved to such and such"

as for the tagging system, i can see the cloud at the bottom but i am unsure how it works. can i tag any thread or only one i start?

Ah, well I think that I have set the board so that when threads are moved they don't leave behind a "moved" message.

I might be wrong, or it might be up to the mod when they are actually moving it.

i would advise the time expiring redirect..let the user know where its gone, also it politely makes them aware that they posted in the wrong section and it matters a little.
