As funny as that is, I'd hasten to add that the one boardgame-to-movie adaptation that I can recall off the top of my head, Clue, was actually a pretty entertaining flick.![]()

Yeah, Clue was alright. So was Twister, but they didn't really keep to the game theme much.Yahtzee or Chinese Checkers might be pushing it.

So, it was with great anticipation that I sat down to watch the mid-season premier of The Walking Dead last night, and the show did not disappoint.
I won't spoil things for those who haven't watched it yet, but I thought they did some very interesting things with some of the characters. And the ending was awesome.
I also thought they did a great job of showing us that, while Rick doesn't always know how to make good decisions during the zombie apocalypse, his cop instincts are still razor sharp.![]()
The show started pretty slow but when they ended it with a car crash and some shootings, well I'm hopeful for the rest of the season. *sniff* *tear* I love me some shootings.![]()
I finally got around to watching the mid season premier of Walking Dead & I must say I liked it much better than I did the first half of the season! The bar scene was great! No spoilers here!
I added Life's Too Short to my list of tv shows. I've only seen the premier episode, so it's kind of early to say how it'll turn out, but I laughed a couple of times. Warwick Davis plays himself as a narcissistic dwarf who's a movie actor (Star Wars, Willow, Hitchhiker's Guide) and he's an agent for other dwarves. He's been accused of cherry-picking the best dwarf roles for himself. His wife is divorcing him because he'd been trying to get a better woman for himself (and failing). She's keeping the house. He owes $250K in back taxes because his accountant is an old friend who's crap at his job. So, he's trying to get work through Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant hoping they can come up with a project involving him. They can barely tolerate him.
The show is written and directed by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant and the humour comes from uncomfortable situations in the show. The style of humour is similar to their first project: The Office (the original british series). There was a review on the web that said it wasn't as good as Curb Your Enthusiasm but as I said, I laughed a couple of times watching it. I haven't been watching the other show.
Anyone looking forward to John Carter when it comes out March 9? It's a Disney project which makes me a little skeptical, but I'm hoping the reviews are good. I enjoyed the Edgar Rice Burroughs book.
(I'm not sure what's going on with the soundtrack. It sounds like Led Zeppelin's Kashmir, but it changes after the opening refrain. Is that just from editing, or is it some kind of cheesy ripoff? On the other hand, Led Zeppelin. You wonder what the original song was "inspired" by...)
I discovered that we can get BBC America with the upgraded HD plan through suddenlink so I signed up for it. My daughter and I started watching "Being Human" and have enjoyed the series a lot. We are still working our way through the back seasons on NetFlix so we aren't up to what is currently airing on the BBC. I imagine we will give the Fades a try sometime soon.
Just a side note technovapir, Bladerunner is in my top 5 all time movies as well![]()

I'll check out Life's Too Short; sounds interesting. So, what's Being Human about?
Must admit, we only watch one show a night. We usually stream shows from Netflix or HuluPlus. We're up to date on our favorite shows, so we end up watching Gossip Girls. Hubby and I get bored watching it, but for whatever reason, Ellery and Maisie love the show!
