Loranns Coffee, or how to dilute thick dark flavors
Ok, so I got some Loranns Coffee flavor. I found basically what everyone else had said about it. Too thick. Clogs the cart, etc. Mind you, I bought this before I started frequenting this forum. You can see I am a new member and a new vaper. Ive vaped probably close to 200ml in a months time, so that gives me a bit of a learning curve.
The point: well, I thought I would throw my two cents in for all those people who have an ounce of "unusable" coffee flavor sitting in their fridge. I am experimenting with it and I think I have found a way to use it.
My gear: I am using the G6. I vape a lot of unflavored, so my base mix is 25mg 70/30, which I sometimes alter by remixing to 25mg 60/40 when I fill my 7ml bottles. (was never a fan of math, but since I started vaping, we have spent a LOT of time together. If any wants math formulas for mixing, or remixing for that matter, let me know. Remixing is where you have to do your own math the most) Also, I have my secret weapon, which is an insulin needle. You have to cut off the end and bore out the hole a bit. Put scotch tape on the numbers so they dont wear off. Ten units equals .1ml. If you hold to one ml has 20 drops on average, that means 10 units = two drops. (SCOTCH TAPE ALSO WORKS ON HALO BOTTLES TO KEEP THE BATCH INFO FROM WEARING OFF)
The heart of the matter (loranns coffee): I started by taking a tablespoon and propping up the handle so it laid flat. Add two drops (or 10 units) of coffee, one ml of PG and I also added 50 units, or 10 drops, vanilla. Thats for just a hint of vanilla. (If you dont want the vanilla, I suppose you could add another 50u of PG if desired) Heat it over the stove, but not to a boil. Stir and stir. Then pull that up in your syringe. Then you drip that in to your base. At this point you are adding the loranns by fractions of drops, which gives you better control. This process will work on any thick dark flavor, I would guess. When you drip it in, after you shake the juice up, you will notice little dark particles. These will dissolve in a couple hours. At least they did for me. It might take longer depending on your conditions, variables, etc. Point is the particulates of coffee will dissolve.
How much? Well, I use my purchased Halo flavors as a standard. I figure that my mixes should not be any darker than halo juice. I had about 5 or 6ml in a bottle unflavored and added seven drops to that base. I might have been able to go a little more. I had enough in that 1ml syringe to do 4 or 5 little bottles. So I guess you could say two drops of coffee per 25-30 ml of juice, but mixing that much at one time can be a disaster. I tested one bottle first and put the rest of my flavor aside until I was sure.
So if you have a thick flavor and want to make a little bottle, thin it down first.
Addendum to scotch tape: fold over a flap at the end to enable tape to be pulled off later. I use a sharpie to mark my little bottles. The surface of the halo label will take the sharpie, but that also rubs off over time. So I label, tape, vape, then remove the tape and rub off the writing under water to remove my mark.
