There is also lethal doses of nicotine in every box of Nicorette up to 13 times.1 box (200pcs) @4mg = 800mg / 60=13.3 and the patch is even worse (as you can stick them on you all at once) 1 box(21pcs) of level 1@21mg=441 / 60=7.35. Personally the patches scare the hell out of me as all of the nicotine is released directly into the blood stream. And they have a bit of a delay. So some idiot could put a few on at the same time then OD. I have personally made the mistake of chewing 2 pieces of 4mg Nicorette at the same time like chewing gum. I felt like I was about to die. My heart felt like it was about to jump out my throat and I had uncontrollable hiccups for about 5hrs after I spit that horrible stuff out.
I think that E-fluid and all items that contain any amount of nicotine at all should be used with a certain amount of caution and responsibility. Like if you have kids you should at least keep your fluid inside a child proof pill bottle and treat it as you would any prescription drug. It is just the responsible thing to do. -Devon

No .the 10% absorption your using here would be applicable to 'analogue cigs' .It seems that absorption rate from e-cigs must be much higher (approaching 70%-80% from what I gather) .Don't know why this is though ,perhaps the higher temperatures normal cigs burn at have something to do with this .
1 ml of 36mg e-liquid is probably equal to something like 25-30 Marlboro .

Thats much to strong for anyone to be smoking IMHO, you vape 36mg juice constantly like
i did when i first started e-smoking about 4 months ago (I was using about 4 ml of it a day)and it WILL make you ill .(it gave me loads of really frightening symtoms after about 3 days of using it).

I know that when I stared vaping, I was using 18mg and 24mg juice for about a month.

Then I ordered Cash's Cola and decided to kick it up a notch to 36mg....just for ****s and giggles.

I got the package at work, and started vaping it while i was sitting at my desk.

I seriously thought I was getting HIGH!!! I was dizzy, felt calm and serene, and absolutely wonderful. It was very euphoric.

Since then.....about a month......i've been vaping 36mg juices exclusively, and I DEFINITELY don't get that feeling AT ALL anymore. I can still vape the lower mg juice and it DOESN'T really feel any weaker......except for the throat hit.

If they made a juice stronger than 36mg, i'd buy it.

On an aside.......do you think it would be possible to create an e-liquid with ... in it??
I don't even really smoke weed anymore.....the older i get, the more weed just makes me feel "uncomfortable in my own skin".
I'm just wondering if it'd be possible. Probably SOMEONE could do it, right?

I think the real issue is that we simply don't know yet what the absortion rate is with ecigs. Personally, it feels like less than that to me. But that's why we need studies, to finally settle this question.

We know the 10% absortion rate from cigarettes, the rate from gum and patches, etc (too lazy to look it up right now, but it is known) - now we need to know for sure about ecigs!

In case anyone's wondering WHY I still have the SD as my sig, it's because I got my first ecig in January 2008 but still smoked for 10 months, until I got my first SD. I have other APVs, but also still love and use my SD (with a Bulli on top). I will be forever grateful to Trog for saving my life!

Yvilla is right, there are no tests so we don't know. I don't know where your 1/10th comes from?

There is no sidestream vapour to burn off nicotine, only primer puffs might be wasted but alkalinity is adjusted to support the idea that we absorb most through mucus membrane in the mouth like cigars and pipes anyway. Dr Laugesen says that less than 2% of nicotine is exhaled.

The actual nicotine measurement from the manufacturers is mg per mg. Eg. 36mg per mg of eliquid. Apparently a mg of propylene glycol is very close to 1ml so we use the mg per ml measurement.

Johnson Creek measure differently. I've heard that it's mg per 1.2ml.

    EDIT
Sorry, nicotine measurements from the manufacturers is mg per gram. A gram of pg is around 1ml.

That makes sense at 36mg/mL because that is a concentration but they should list it on their website like that because otherwise it is obscure as to exactly how much you are getting.

I know how dangerous nicotine overdose can be because I have ingested one or two cigarettes which were followed by immediate vomiting but I still got quite sick and I have had chain smoked before up to 5-8 in a row in the past and lost my sense of position in space so I was walking like a drunkard. I haven't yet tried drinking this ejuice and am waiting until I am in the mood to take the risk but I doubt this stuff will be purged as quickly and will most likely get absorbed by the stomach & intestine linings. So at 36mg/mL for a 50mL bottle that comes out to 1800 mg of nicotine in the bottle? That amount could kill a full grown horse in less than a minute, if you burn off the water(100 C) and propylene glycol (188 C) you would be left with Nicotine (BP = 247 C) and all you would need is a high degree thermometer and a heat source to evaporate the water & PG which leaves black messy nicotine glue.

Assuming only 50% yield you would still manage to get about 900mg of nicotine from a 50mL 36mg bottle which is enough to kill a dozen people.

A few drops on the tongue will result in quick absorption through the subcutaneous membrane of the tongue, into the blood stream, to the brain and heart causing sympathetic innervation. Heart palpations would result in a few seconds followed by cardiac arrest due to arrythmia. It would feel kind of like your heart is being ripped out of your chest and exploding, not a fun way to go, dangerous stuff.

Worst thing I ever got from nicotine overdose was a feeling that I was having a heart attack and collapsing to the floor, now sometimes when I stand up from bed immediately I get really lightheaded and lose orientation so I must have hypertension from my experimenting.

Be careful with that ejuice it is highly toxic!

Please don't drink the liquid. I don't want to read your obituary on the forum.

    First off, double quote IYF!

Next, I would like to see where the "1/10th absorbed" figures come from. AFAIK we have no data on that as it concerns e-smoking.

DCrist, see above and ... 2-3 hours at a gradually decreasing rate.

We don't know how much nicotine is absorbed by vaping. We barely know what the rate is for smoking analogs. LD (lethal dose) figures are based (essentially, don't kill me guys!) on a single dose, straight into the system.

You could eat a bottle of aspirin and survive, despite the fact that the bottle contains more than the LD for aspirin. (don't try this at home)

For example a 30mL bottle with 36mg nicotine would be less concentrated than a 15mL bottle with 36mg, so obviously it makes sense to buy a 15mL bottle at half the price and dilute it yourself.
    Thanks!

I figure that the 36mg strength is made in a large batch, and the concentration is per mL. Therefore, a 15mL bottle and a 30mL bottle have the same concentration of 36mg strength.

To answer your question, this can definitely be done.. Does it work? I do not know. You can make a pretty strong tincture using minimal ........ and high proof grain alcohol. This is also called green dragon, gold dragon, or any number of names depending on what color you end up with. Does it work in an e-cig, I can't tell you because I have never tried it, but since green dragon can be absorbed through the mouth or ingestion very easily I don't see why it wouldn't absorb within the lungs if used in a vaporizing device.
