| I've been thinking more and more about my experience with the horrible taste of the burning core material and the possible health consequences and I was wondering; how many folks drip rather than useing the carts? of those of you who have used both carts and the drip method, how rough is dripping on the atomizers? I'd be willing to sacrifice a little wear on the atomizer for the sake of knowing that I'm not inhaling polyester, but I don't want to run through atomizers weekly if I can help it. Also, if you do drip is there anything that I can do to extend the life of the atomizer other than draining it nightly? should I hold it vertialy while smoking or horizontaly? |

| When dripping, do you put a dummy mouthpiece on, or still smoke it through a low/empty wool-filled cartridge? Just wondering... |

| I'm dripping direct to the atomiser of a generic penstyle, and inhaling through a dummy mouthpiece. I will only drip on this one, and I'll let you know when it keels over. It's not brand new, and has been played in for about a month now (light use), mostly with carts. Smoking Melange® at the mo. Mmmmm

| Wasn't a suggested activity, but yup, the fibre does scorch sometimes, and there are some threads about where an intrepid member broke up some atomisers and posted pics of the carbonised inner core. I'll see if I can locate them. Emp

So far, I haven't noticed any problems with my atomizer. I began using this atomizer about 3 weeks ago, with cartridges. Then about 2 weeks ago I switched to full time drip smoking. As for maintenance, I try to let my atomizer drain every night, though I do miss a night every now and then. I did this while I was cartridge smoking though, so this part of my routine hasn't been changed by the switch to drip smoking. I just use a dummy mouth piece for drip smoking. If you don't have the one that came with your e-cig, just take an old cartridge and separate the white piece from the black piece (I'm assuming a pen-style e-cig here), it is surprisingly easy to do. When I smoke, if I hear lots of gurgling and am not getting much vapor, I smoke it horizontally. If the smoke starts tasting bland and I'm not getting much nicotine feeling in the back of my throat, I tilt the cig vertically (battery end down) for awhile to try to get any remaining liquid to drain down into the atomizer. When all that stops working, I know it is time for more liquid. Hope that helps.
