I truly meant suckers in both senses of the word!

What kind of sucker would do something of this nature without knowledge of its consequences? A sucker like me, that's who. But what do I know? That's why I'm a sucker for New Tech-Smoking.

    2. One that affords assistance or relief.
    tr.v. suc·cored, suc·cor·ing, suc·cors

Misting is what I do to my plants periodically.

This is fun, I guess, but there is nothing this forum can do to change the world's term for this: E-smoking. Or the devices: Electronic cigarettes.

And I'm fine with both terms. I'm sure our federal agencies won't care what it's called when they consider the legality of an electronic device delivering nicotine in non-medicinal form. Our best hope? We're using vaporizers, which are legal. It was indeed a mistake to ever call them "cigarettes" and talk of "smoking" them -- but that's history now and we must live with the terms.

that's true Bob, but the term smoking however we intend it still has the conotation of being the traditional sense of the word ... ihalation of the fumes of burnt tobacco. If we can adopt now a more universal use of a word or words that describe what we do that does not immediately conjure up the initial thoughts of "smoking" the greater our chances will be of gaining support when this may or may not come down to the wire. Don't you agree ?

Yes and no. In a perfect world that we control, yes. In the real world .. this forum is e-cigarette-forum. E-cigarettes are used for what? We prefer to think of these as alternatives to cigarettes, which are smoked, so it made sense early on to call this e-smoking. Established as this term is, it cannot be changed easily. Try Googling misting, or e-misting. Now try finding Web information on "e-smoking" or "electronic cigarettes". I just see no purpose beyond entertainment for trying to change this leopard's stripes. I don't see it happening.
