    Default Quit back in 92

I've been smoke free for 17 years as of April 4th. I loved to smoke but quit because they were so bad for me. Imagine my surprise when I found out that you can get the real thing without all the crap! So I tried out the e-cigar and have loved every puff! Yes, I'm going back and very excited about it too. I've been looking at sites and watching lots of videos and just learning so much about how everything works while I'm waiting for my pen style e-cig to arrive.

It's almost a given that these things are better for us than analogs, i would bet every penny, plus my life on this fact (i already am hehe). Early tests are looking like this is going to be proven.

I don't for one minute think that these are going to be 100% safe just a hell of a lot safer than normal ciggys. The nicotine like any drug has it pro's and cons alone and that includes the patches.

I think these are an awesome thing for somebody that smoke analogs already but i can't understand why anybody that's bee smoke free for 17 years would want to start these. What happens if they did get banned would you then start smoking analogs? Or do you think you could stop again? Did you find it easy the first time when you quit?

Im have no intention of telling you what to do mate, i will say be careful though and have a good think before you reignite your nicotine addiction.

I am sure once we have been addicted to something in the past it takes a lot less time to get re-addicted when our brains remember being addicted in the past. It wont take as long to get addicted to nic this time around as it did the first.

It's your choice but make sure you are making the right one for yourself mate.

Of course all this does not apply if you are smoking the nicotine free ones haha. Still may be some slight issues if you do it heavy but nobody really knows yet.

    All the best Lee.

Sorry if this thread was on it's way out but have been using my e-cig for a few days and after looking at the math threads and doing some of my own research what I ended up doing was going with 6mg (I just wish I didn't spend so much money experimenting on different strengths now that I know lol). I smoked Pall Mall Light 100s which contain 0.8 mg/nic per smoke. Since I seem to be getting more nic from e-cigs I decided that going under would balance out. I smoked a lot in that I went through a lot of cigarettes in a day but I never really smoked an entire cig. Usually either burnt out when I got caught up in something or I'd snuff it early.

I've noticed with the 6mg I can just puff away all day (as others seem to do) but even the 11mg strength were getting me light headed and I tried 18mg and couldn't stand more than 1 or 2 puffs.

I'm also thinking of getting some 0 nic juice to see if I'm even addicted to nicotine or not. I have an hour commute home from work every day and where I would usually have 3-4 cigs between my job and my house I barely had a few puffs on my e-cig the last 2-3 blocks before I got home today.

I actually started smoking e-cigs with the intention of quitting analogs full stop.

My first e-liquid was 24 and it was too strong for me to smoke all day and that's what i wanted to do, so i started going down in strength to find the correct one for me.

After a whilst i got some 36 TW marlboro with the intention of cutting but found quickly that i smoke this neat and do not need to cut it, the only difference is that it cut's my craving 100% and i find im having a puff less frquently, maybe one - three puffs every half hour.

For me i found once i got my stronger juice i was not using my device every 5 minutes like i was and getting OD on nic.

I think it's because of the way my brain works and wanted a quick hit like a cigarette that gave it everything it needed in a few puffs and just did not want to be vaoeing non-stop like a chimney all day.

I was smoking 25ish analogs a day and have found that 36mg juice settles my craving a hell of a lot better than all the other juices and i just vape a lot lot less than the others.

Maybe the fact it's the closest thing i ever vapped to a cigarette in taste too that it works so well.

I may buy lower strength fruity juices but i will continue to buy one Super Strength Tobaco flavoured juice as this is the only one that stops me wanting an analog.

Hope this makes sense, since i got that juice i am not vapeing non stop all day and getting any sort of headache or OD and it's stopping my craveing 100%

    Cheers Lee.

    Lee,

That is pretty much how I do it as well now.

I have 24mg TW juice I cut to 12Mg and flavour for day to day usage.

But I also keep a bottle of the neat 24mg TW for the times I WANT a proper ciggie.

I do find as well that with hight strength you get more and tend to slow down your vaping. If I try to vape 24mg like I do 12mg, then I feel sick in the stomach..

Hopefully this thread will develop to help newbies.

From this we are learning that it is probably best to start low mg as you get used to the ecig and puff like a steam train all week trying to work it out. Then as you become experienced after a few weeks, move to a higher strength to suit your body.

Agreed, in fact if i would advice anybody just starting out who plans to quite analogs totally and smoked over 20 a day to get a couple of bottles of different strength.

1 Bottle of 18 or less something fruity maybe, and one bottle of strong 24 or 36 maybe cigarette flavoured.

The idea being when it's a novelty and you have just got it you can smoke the lower juice as you are likely to keep picking it up and won't want to put it down hehe (at least i did).

Then when you stop analogs, i did it over the course of about a week, you can use the stronger ciggy flavoured one when you actually get a strong craving.

This may not work for you but it did for me. Even though my siggy says smoke free for all that time i was smoking one or 2 ciggys a day for a lot of that time, it was strange how i needed just that 1 but i did, that 1 ciggy was enough though for the day with my e-cig aswell.

I have been totally analog free for a week now since i got my Super Strength TW Marlboro, and i am sure i will never go back to smoking an analog unless i am forced to by having some sort of issue with e-cig supply.

    Cheers Lee.

P.S I am sure everybody is different and you may do it differently to me, i am just saying this is how i did it and it worked well for me!

This is quite an interesting thread. I have to agree with Boomer, you're best bet is to listen to your body.

Like Boomer, when I first got mine about a month ago (heck, even still) I was a vaping freak. Just the novelty of it alone would keep me vaping. I had bought some 16 mg juice and after 25 years of smoking, actually copped a buzz. I was amazed at that. However, didn't like the feeling of being buzzed all the time, so bought some glycerine to cut and get more vapor.

I think it's worth mentioning that is isn't just how many analogs you smoked a day, but also, what kind. 20 Camels compared to 20 Ultra lights are NOT the same.

    Pooch Smooches~

True, and also how you smoked them! If you watch somebody that smokes say "parsley" they are more likely to take a deep drag on a fag right down deep into their lungs and hold it in for a couple of seconds before exhaling.

I have seen other smokers taking tiny little puffs and blowing it straight out.

And a lot of other smokers somewhere in between the two hehe.

Now even if these smokers were smoking even the same brand i am sure they would be getting vastly different amounts of nicotine and all the other crap into there system.

Exactly! That's why tobacco companies aren't allowed to put words like "lights" on the packs any more. The figures on the side of the packet are meaningless.
