Default Using tags - updating old posts

    Hi,

I would recommend that people try to use tags more when posting. They can be very helpful when searching this forum.

    Tip:
Users can add tags to old threads they have started. Just go to edit post and at the bottom (to the right) click edit tags. This will add to the forming tag cloud at the bottom of this forum.

Shogun can you elaborate on what tags are? I have an idea but not sure.

Tags are keywords that are used to group things - in this case, we can use them to group threads. For instance, all reviews of Ruyan products should at least be tagged with Ruyan and review. If the review is of a Ruyan cigar then ecigar could also be added as a tag. Later on folks can select those tags to see a list of up all the linked (tagged) threads.

On the main page of the forum, below the board proper, is a list of tags (keywords) currently in use. The more frequently used tags are larger than others. If you click on a tag you should see a list of the threads to which that tag has been assigned.

You do not have to be a thread starter to add tags to a thread.

It is helpful to pay attention to the tags currently in use (on the main page) and keep them in mind when tagging new threads. Using different spellings or variations on the same word can defeat the purpose of tagging. For instance, I added the tag toxic to a post detailing the toxicity of eliquid. I considered toxic, toxicity, poison, poisonous, etc. I chose toxic for no great reason, however it would be most convenient if others now use that tag as well.
