I have noticed that the ePuffer carts are lasting about 33% less time than the Smart Fixx carts. I pulled the stuffing out of an ePuffer cart and noticed that there is roughly twice the stuffing as is in Smart Fixx's cart and that means essentially less liquid.

Someone may have a different experience, but that is what I see with this shipment.

I ordered from Smokester's site- got 50 Carts + 1 variety pack to see what the different flavors taste like- will report back on my experience with hte Carts when I get them.

Yeah, the SmartFixx carts seem to last a very long time- even with heavy smoking- there's just something about hte Carts & liquid used that make em last a very lonf time- I was surprised at how long htey last- Some Carts though seem to last longer than others with the SmartFixx carts, I also note thast some carts liquid looks a bit darker and more soaked than others. I threw a bunch of dried out carts from SmartFixx away- wshoulda hung onto htem as they do fit well and did last long- coulda just refilled em- but I did order 25 more from smartfixx just incase the Smokester's carts don't fit well, but if they fit the NJoy, they should fit ok- hope they last as long as the smartfixx carts- that would be nice

Upon further investigation, it would appear that the fiber in ePuffer carts is about the same, maybe a little more.

The real problem is, especially for those that might want to "swap cotton" from ePuffer to another type cart and that is the filler appears to be glued to the cart inside.

When I tried to pull the filling from the cart it was difficult and once removed the filler was quite spread out and appeared to be much larger than most.

When reinserting the filler I noticed a clear hard spot at the bottom. That's when my error became clear.

Gunny- the SmartFixx cart wool is hte same- glued at hte bottom- You gotta put hte tweezers all the way to the bottom before tryign to pull the wool out or hte wool will rip- had that happen a few times myself- & when the SmartFixx is out, it spreads out too- a little hard to get back into the cart- gotta compress it first. If the E-puffer is lasting 1/3 less, perhaps the liquid might be a different mix or something as well. Perhaps a dab of Glycerin might help extend the life a bit- the Glycerin is a 'wetting agent' that keeps everythign moist longer, as well as a vapor agent too, and it helps thicken the liquid a bit too I've found out- might be hte epuffer stuff has less Glycerin & dries out quicker, or hte liquid is thinner than Epuffer

Think you're pretty much right on the mixture thing Naz.

I'll be ordering some liquid from ePuffer soon (6/16/08 according to them and 2 weeks later for the vanilla) and then I can play around with the mix a little and see if that helps any.

I did draw a full cart into a insulin syringe and got pretty much a full draw which is ~1/2 ml and that seems to be about right.

Gunny, pick up a bottle of pure food grade glycerin as well, and keep it handy in a dropper or something- just a small drip on the end of the cartridge prior to using it will help quite a bit- let it soak down into the wool and mix with hte liquid too. Amazon sells some pure vegetable food grade gylcerin, but it's a little pricey ($15-20 if I remember right), but it goes a logn ways and helps produce a nice cloud of vapor- improving any eliquids we use- I've been using it for a number of weeks now, off and on while experimenting, and it's not done anythign bad to my atomizer- the only hting that killed my atomizers was simple failure of the device (both my dead ones died before I got into the smoking juice experimenting)

The atomizer that is still working has been goign for quite awhile with no apparent ill effects from addign hte glycerin- it's been workign at abotu 1/3 to 1/2 of it's 'new performace' for a few weeks now, but again, this was an old atomizer that started crappign out before I really started the experiments, and the level of performance has remained steady at about 1/2 less the performace of a new one all through my trials- This was the atomizer I thought was dead, and hte one I boiled in water and baking soda, then cleaned in Hydrogen peroxide, and to my surprise, it started workign again, and has been goign ever since- even with all my wierd experiments

But bottom line- I beleive Glycerin is perfectly safe for hte atomizers, and I think TB will agree, and it will both add performace to the Cartridges as well as extend the life of the juice in the cartridges with just a small drip before insertign a new one into hte device
