My experience with the m401 atomizer from absolutely ecigs.
So far it has been just over a month, I use one atomizer for dripping and the other with cartridges I fill. I havent had to replace one yet, but I find the one I use to drip seems to lose power, I clean it up by running it under hot water for a few minutes and Im good to go. The cartridge one, no problems at all with the cartridge one.

That's kind of a personal question....

I have been using the same Pilot (M401) atomizer for 2 months... no cleaning, no draining...

WOW ! 2 month's.. I think I will try out the m401 next ?

Your mileage may vary! My wife can kill them in a week...

I killed 2 2-hole 801 atomizers from BestEcig in less than 3 weeks. I'm now running a 4-hole 801 atomizer from David Yang (EastMall), it'll be a week tomorrow and no problem yet. Yesterday it was putting out some rough smoke, harsh on the throat, but now it's back to normal
I'm taking more care of this one, blowing liquid out, washing with running water and leaving to dry every 2-3 nights, then priming in the morning after drying with 2 drops.
I'm going to try to revive the ones from BestEcig when I receive the Nu-Calgon that I ordered.

Blimey! My first dead atomizer did a Lazarus. I set it aside, upside down, for two days. When my second (and last) 'mizer went down, I tried it out of desperation. Yeeha.

I've been vaping since February 2008 and only use 801 atomizers (Sedansa, Janty and generics; from David Yang and one from E-Bay), primarily with prefilled carts as I don't like dripping. Sometimes I do top up the carts with liquid.
I have atomizers that are a year old (Sedansa) and still working. Most of them have stopped performing very well, but I have had some succes with using a USB with manual switch to 'burn' them clean. In some cases I have managed to get them working excellently again, in some cases it just doesn't seem to work very well at all. It is time consuming to do this and takes a bit of effort, but very rewarding when it does work.
On the other hand, during that time I've also had numerous atomizers die within a short period of time (several days to a week). Can't say that it happens less to 'branded' ones over 'generics', it seems to be quite random.
They all start performing less after a while. I have cleaned some of them (by soaking them overnight and/or rinsing them with water), with varying success.
I've also had instances where I thought an atomizer was completely dead, only to find when I use them on a USB with manual switch, that there still is some life in them after all (can hear them prattling very softly), so I always check that when one dies on me. If it still shows some signs of life I will try the method with the USB and manual switch to try and revive them.
The worst problems I have had with atomizers have been the Mini Pipe ones (unfortunately, as I love the flavour they give and the amount of vapour when they are performing well !). I have had quite a few of those die within a few days and they are also very prone to becoming flooded.
When an atomizer starts performing less because it's flooded, I either dry smoke it, reset it a couple of times (with an 801 by blowing on the led end of the battery to heat up the atomizer), or use the USB with manual switch method to dry it out.
Of course after first having blown out any excess liquid (stuffing a rolled up paper towel into the atomizer and blowing repeatedly on the battery connection end of it till the paper towel comes out dry, being careful to NOT TWIST the paper towel when it is in the atomizer as this may leave unwanted paper fibers on the bridge).
EDIT: forgot to mention that I do leave them upside down (without a cart of course
) to drain every night.
Cheers,
Silver

As I posted a while ago (and still on the same atomizer), I feel that the silver colored 901 atomizers are not only the best in terms of "hit", but I have been using the first one I ever got for almost 2 months now without the slightest dropoff in performance.
I bought them from PureSmoker, and while I've tried black 901s and some are good and some are bad, I went through 6 of them in a month before I got the silver one from a friend (he got from PureSmoker.) I was so impressed with not only the look, but the performance of it, I ordered a bunch more of them. I have been using the first on very hard, and only broke out a 2nd one due to a few drops of CashCap not EVER wanting to leave my atomizer. That flavor takes a LONG time to vape away.
The Silver 901 atomizers are hands down the cream of the crop. Perhaps it was just a good batch, but my friend is on his first one going on 2 months as well. I'll be ordering a bunch more as soon as I can find them in stock.
