I've heard that heavy shag seems to make many people cough. Haven't tried it myself...

Of the three e cigs I own, nothing is as good as the 510. It has an awesome throat hit. I usually vape high or extra high, can't really tell much difference between the two. I have a 901, and a njoy super mini. Neither can compare to the 510.

I use a screwdriver and I get a throat hit with every draw on 12mg juice. The only exception to this is if I forget to change batteries and I am on hour 10 or 11 on the same battery.........

I don't use cartridges anymore because I've never gotten a good throat hit with them. I feel that the airflow around the cartridge restricts having that super-duper throat hit.

I drip 4 drops of juice on the atomizer, put the mouth piece on and I'm good to go for about 10-15 puffs!

the screwdriver with the Flu-Cured tobacco from bestecig.com is the standard i measure all throat hits against

my 801 with Flu-Cured is pretty damn close to that , the Mar-Bro from truevapor and Riskee from puresmoker are tied for 2nd

and of course every menthol/spearmint i have ever tried gives a great throat hit , even in the low nic

My opinion of throat hit is this...

The irritation is a sign of... "Stop, this hurts, it is bad for me." That is how your body alerts you of harm. (Fire=burn, pepper spray=burn, acid=burn, bee sting=burn, dirt in cut=burn, open wound=burn)

Perhaps you should just get use to the lack of throat-hit, and possibly look for solutions which do not irritate that raw healing soar skin in your throat. Obviously your non-sensitive lungs are getting the same damage, thus the associated cough. Try a menthol cough-drop or mint in your mouth, while you toke.

Irritants are alkalines or heavy base fluids, if not a neutral irritant. All three should be avoided, where possible.

My 510 manual coupled with e-SmokeyTreats 36mg Watermelon or Redbull gives me a whopper throat hit. With or without the carts.
