Red face I Finally Did It

Tried to light my e-cig with my lighter last night

Also dropped the poor thing earlier and this morning the battery came apart

Fortunately son had a spare battery for his so I'm happily puffing away again

That's in the had-to-happen category. We'll expect the video on YouTube within an hour.

I hope you didn't take a drag. I remember being at a rock concert a few years ago and watching a large, very intoxicated man smoke a cigarette backwards!

Yeah, I've come close to lighting mine up too.

The ends of them must be made of tough stuff because my cigarette lighter is one of those windproof ones that resembles a mini Bunsen Burner. It didn't even start to melt the end. I didn't even notice what I was doing (I was tired and concentrating on writing a post on another forum) until I smelt burning plastic. Amazingly, although there was a smell, it hasn't even so much as scorched. Perhaps the manufacturers knew this would happen a lot and have reinforced them

Mind you, goes to show that there isn't much difference from smoking a real cig to smoking an e-cig (apart from no dirty ashtrays, smoke lingering etc.).

I tried to put my e-cig out in the ashtray when I first got it, I wasn't thinking and got up to do something and naturally went to put it out - I felt stupid and hubby thought it was hilarious. Sometimes he will still ask if I need an ashtry.

I reflexively put the e-cig out an open car window, to get rid of the "ash".
