I just got my kit the other day. I took a few puffs to get the gunk off of the atomizer. I then filled my first cart with RY4. With the exception of the metalic aftertaste I thought it tasted just like the RY4 juice.

The first time I vaped I didn't know anything about any primer coating. It tasted something familiar to my dental visits. I had a bad headache for two days. IMO very bad stuff.

The first time I vaped I didn't know about the primer and that first hit was like "OMG this tastes like ASS, how could those people on the forum say this is better than analogs?!?!" I dunno what the stuff is, but it's pretty nasty - I clean all of my new atomizers before use now.

My first taste of primer elicited a "What the Smeg?!" reaction. I'm with Nuck, I really, really don't want to know what it is.

Could put me off e-cigs for life!

NB--Again if you look at the patient applications submitted by Ruyan, they state that the primer fluid is PG. ---Sun

That's all well and good, but I have a gallon of Pure PG and I've vaped plenty straight, and it doesn't taste at all like the priming fluid for a dse901 or the RN type.

Also, if you blow some out, it is a non-clear color. It might be mostly PG (and I'd assume it is since it makes vapor), but there is something else that gives it the nasty flavor, since PG tastes slightly sweet but fairly neutral on it's own.

The primer probably is either pure PG or, sometimes, a juice.

However, even though in a sealed bag, the primer will oxidise and/or degrade over the weeks before first use. The badness of taste corresponding to how long the primer has been in place.

    Default just a suggestion....

To me, the flavor is almost a bad peppery taste.

One thing you can do is with the new atty, take off the mouthpiece, put the LED in your mouth and push air up through the battery and into the atty. This activates the atty and burns off whatever it is on there, (well, most of it anyways) which keeps you from direct inhalation.

This is also IMHO one of the best ways to clean your atty when it is needed.

More than likely they are manufacturing oils that keep the parts from rusting. On the internet, there are many sites that state the coils are being destroyed because people are not... "Blow the coil to remove package oils, or damage comes to coil."

I am sure there are cooling oils on there also, which may be the same thing.

The high-speed blade that cuts the steel-wool stuff, requires constant cooling with machine oil. I assume it travels through the wick, onto the coil after it is assembled.

Flush all new atomizers with alcohol and then with water. Allow the atomizer to dry before use. That is not safe to smoke, if it is NOT PG. What is in a patent, and what comes from production, are two separate things. I don't believe blowing your coil will sufficiently remove oil from the surface, only globs of oil from the holes.

Remember, not all of these are real, made by the manufacture that invented them. Ruyan has already sued manufactures for imitating his patent, and selling them cheaper. Unless it is clearly identified as a Ruyan, with a logo on all parts of the device and charger, and it is able to be registered... then it is a knock-off.

Don't assume that some other manufacture who has illegally copied another persons patent, half-way across the large country of china... is following the same standards. That is like expecting a drug-dealer to sell you medical grade viagra, not horse-laxatives that are marked as viagra.

There are no Chinese manufactures that have rights to manufacture Ruyan, other than the company which is in Hong-Kong.

I think you're on the money there. I've always thought it tasted like Vaseline. Not that I've ever...
