lithium battery technology is a fragile battery technology.. if allowed to go too flat it destroys them.. if over charged they catch fire.. the batteries have electronic safety control circuits built in to make them safe for consumer use.. the circuit switches off the battery when the voltage drops to 2.7 volts.. it will never let it go fully flat or below the 2.7 volts.. the circuit also switches off the charge system when the voltage gets to 4.2 volts.. it will never let it go higher than this.. when the green light comes on no more current is allowed to pass into the battery.. the battery has reached its 4.2 volts.. so the green light means f-cking OFF.. repeate f-cking OFF.. not leave on for twice as long to make sure.. he he he course one has to be a "rebel" to dare challenge the forum herd opinion on this one.. the fact i know what i am talking about often pisses off the majority who dont.. bless em.. what i have told u is a waste of my time except perhaps for u.. dont dare ever mention it again.. he he he trog

Hi there, Glad you like the experience - I felt the same way as you - went bonkers round the house - wife thought I'd been electrocuted!! Anyway, re the gurgling sound; as Kit says above this is the 'juice' bubbling on the heating element. Great up to a point. When the battery starts to loose some of its charge, some of this liquid will escape the chamber and will be drawn up the sides of the tube and you could get some in your mouth. Trust me on this - it will happen to you at some point and is not pleasant at all!!! When I get a lot of gurgling, I take out the cartridge and replace it with just a mouthpiece and fresh battery. I then smoke the e-cig without the cartridge until the gurgling drops off. Re the other sound you refer to!!!! Ahhemm, well I have tried to replicate it and believe that the mouthpiece may not be fully pushed home - air could be escaping around the sides. Could be wong though as I haven't experienced such a noise as I insist my cartridges are fully potty trained before purchase!!.. All the best, and if this is your first e-cig, then congratulations, you bought a real belter from the off. Jerry

In that case, I am bloody delighted with this thing!! It really does replicate the part I missed the most about smoking! I had trouble pulling the dummy mouthpiece off of the ecig in the box, luckily I bought the spare atomizer and just stuck that on the charged battery with a cart and managed to pull that one off just fine :-) and thanks to all my friends here, your advice has helped me out so much!! I can't wait to show it off to everyone tomorrow!!!

As I enjoy my e-cig, taking it very slowly and swapped out the high nicotine for a no nicotine cart, noticed my other battery charging, the red LED seems to pulse green as the battery charged at a certain point, I don't think the charge circuit or the LED indicators are too intelligent, I know that charging a lithium ion battery in, say, a laptop pulses instead of providing a constant voltage unlike our old friend the NiCad battery charger would so I suspect the charge controller to be in the chip inside the battery or not wired to the LED in a way most chargers are, the charger still produced an average amount of heat even past green so it must still be trickle charging :-) I could be talking a loada crap but I like to wonder about these thing!

Well you know how I said my mother was kinda ermm not impressed nor unimpressed!? Well my dad who unfortunately suffered throat cancer about 10 years ago through smoking is in absolute stitches after seeing it!!! He smokes a cigar now since he can no longer inhale, he breathes through a hole in his throat. Yet another reason why everyone should dump the fags and get ecigs! he is borrowing my ecig tomorrow night to wind the people up in the pub hahaha!!! Luckily, if I can get the damn dummy bit off the other atomizer, we will both have a great time tomorrow down the pub and get the ecig safe smoking sign put up!!!

your battery isnt trickle charging.. a lithium cell is regulated (in the battery) so that when it gets to 4.2 volts it switches the charge off.. this bypasses anything the charger is doing.. when the green light is on it means no current is going into the battery.. they can catch fire if overcharged or taken beyond the 4.2 volts point.. they do not trickle for ever like the old nicads did.. the charger led is a simple thing.. red means current is passing into the battery.. green means nothing is passing anywhere.. the control is built into the battery.. green in essence means the battery is disconnected from the charger the same as if the battery wasnt screwed in at all.. trog

Do get back to us on how this turns out! Good luck to your father -- he ought to order a Ruyan Vegas or wait a couple of weeks for the GreenCig G100 cigar (no price yet).
