I doubt I'm the only sinner and wonder what other miscreants make of my observations: 1. Returning to smoking after months of vaping started with a pack of 10 lasting a few days. A few weeks later and I was smoking much more heavily than I ever did. The convenience of vaping carried across – or had I been dosing myself with too high a nicotine level? Either way, I’m now smoking almost twice what I was before I first quit. I thought I’d just post this observation – not to criticise vaping but to see if others have had similar experiences. I still believe vaping to be the most effective alternative to smoking and is far healthier than analogs. In just the few months of returning to sin I’ve noticed health effects. I had been using max strength liquid supported by a series of batteries that allowed me vape pretty much constantly. This was probably unwise but it's plain daft 'smoking' in that way. 2. I put falling off the wagon down to (in increasing order of importance); bereavement, a militant workforce, losing more money in the ‘financial meltdown’ than I could ever smoke, the wife crashing the car (and her being OK!), institutionalising the parents-in-law, the insane amount of fiddly things e-cigs need and the devastation caused when my stereo broke! The stereo is now fixed but I’m determined to share what little wisdom I’ve gained from this experience: The e-cig setup needs simplified – particularly battery charging. E-cigs typically charge one battery, these batteries have insufficient power and before long vaping has you carrying around a handbag full of atomisers, liquid, carts, charger and backup devices that’d have you ‘rubber gloved’ if you tried taking it through an airport! Going away overnight requires a check-list and a bank of charged batteries that you can only get by having a second charger. Improving atomiser reliability may be some time off but there is absolutely NO REASON I can think of for the absence of chargers capable of recharging several batteries at the same time. Even going out for a night requires a few fully charged batteries. The e-cigar that used standard rechargeable batteries that I could charge 4 at a time became my preferred device – but then its atomiser quit. Vaping a cigar didn’t suit my personality – I’m not fat, I’m not bald and the bankers have made sure I’m not wealthy either. I think a pipe should suit my needs – but I don’t want to have to buy a new one every time the atomiser fails. This pipe needs a sturdy standard re-chargeable battery that I can recharge in 4’s – or at least 2’s. Does such a product exist. The aim is simple – I want a device that doesn’t require constant battery attention. |

Hello Soot, it's great to see you back ![]() Sorry to hear about the problems you've had. Have a look at the RS888/mini pipe/lady pipe, it uses a generic battery and standard classic/penstyle atomisers - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat - Threads Tagged with 888 |

Thanks for the response Kate - so fast too! I've scanned some of the posts you linked and think it addresses the issues I've raised. Is there a UK supplier? |

I'm not posting as much these days Soot but had to welcome you back ![]() This trader sells the mini pipe and I've had very good buying experiences with him - SmokeJuice - HOME EDIT Have a look at some of the custom builds that are around now too, they've become very popular (eg. Screwdriver and GG) |

strayling - thanks for the advice. Trog's Screwdriver is a great product that meets most of my requirements. I'm looking for a traditional looking smoking device that is easy support. Trog's SD isn't what I'm looking for but Trog isn't far off. I want a traditional product - not a 'torch' stuck in my mouth. |

Thanks for the link Kate. Sorry to hear you're not posting "as much" - it seems you are as much an asset to this forum now as you've always been. I hope I'm right. I have to tell you Kate - finding you still here and responding to my posts helps me make that climb. I know we've disagreed on some things but I have to take my hat off to you and your generosity. You're a rare find! |

Aw, thanks ![]() When I say I'm not posting as much what I really mean is that I'm not hanging around the new members board or helping out very much. I'm still posting nonsense and such but more social things. The forum has grown very quickly and I'm finding the social groups are great for a less frantic experience. I was talking about you recently with DC. He set up a survey for us and was looking for suggestions to improve it. Unfortunately that one got sabotaged but hopefully you'll be around to give your thoughts on the next one. |

DC sent me a message almost a month ago that I only picked up today. I've sent him an apology and hope he understands. It's great to hear that the forum has grown. E-cigs will save countless lives but significant improvement is possible. Let me just be a "commie" and say that creating a e-cig with a standard atomiser and battery is not the path e-cig development seems to be following. I'm fine with the constant stylistic change that express e-cig development. Important as these developments are (compared to the idiotic reasons that started me smoking) the e-cig has a serious problem that is easiy solved. Put plainly - I want a device no larger than a pack of cigs that I can take to the pub for a night out. I don't want a device that is unusual to my smoking habit and (shane on me) I'm not enthusiastic about new devices that would have me sucking on a torch. E-vaping needs chargers that charge more than 1 battery. Other savings are also possible; eg, 901 atomiser connections instead of connections deliberately designed to create redundancy. |
