it probably is a ridiculous idea.. but the chinese "copy" things.. the heat the atomizer up (resets to factory specifications) to quote the original ruyan device when u poked a paper clip into a little hole has simply been copied into the later devices..

strange people the chinese.. often they seem to copy things and sell them without the vaguest notion of what they are or do.. he he he

Yes, give them a toaster and a day later you have a exact copy, The chinese are real good with that. Only at one thing they suck, copying the instruction manuals..hehehe!

Hi, having my dse901 for 5 days and I just stumbled on this movie

The guy in the movie says its cleaning cygle and I thought it was a low battery sign?
First of all my manual says that cleaning cycle is marked by the LED lit CONTINUESLY for 20 seconds and not flashing? Im i little bit confused.
On one hand the manual says it has to lit contunuesly on the other hand I noticed that when these long flashes occur my cigar starts to taste burnt ... lets say like ****
So, is the cleaning happen with contunued lit or flashed ?
And another thing... this should kill the battery 20 sec of continued heating ...?

I don't mind the wait with the self cleaning, but tasting burnt rusty metal with a slight plastic/anise aftertaste is going to make this product never hit mainstream I swear.

i've always avoided the cleaning cycle with some success...

recently, i wass fed up and just let the cleaning cycle happen..

This is what i realised. In the beginning, it takes almost forever for the yucky taste to fade off after the cleaning cycle. But after i let the cycle take its course, i realised that the yucky taste becomes milder and milder every cycle. Now, after a cleaning cycle, it only takes a few drag to get rid of the smell. This is after about 5 cleaning cycles or so....Of course, some atomisers didin't live long enough to reach 5 cleaning cycles....LOL

Just thought i'd share this...

Has anyone come across batteries without the cleaning cycle? I'm sick of it killing my atomizers. Took a puff off of a 3 day old atomizer just yesterday, set it down only to see it flashing out of the corner of my eye, but it was too late... 7.50 up in smoke.

If you rotate your batteries you will find that they all hit the cleaning cycle one after another.

With the 901 I had 5 auto cleans in one day cannot be good for the atomiser.

I now have a Screwdriver from Trog and the battery used in the Screwdriver does NOT trigger a cleaning cycle

They are a lot cheaper and also hold their charge a lot longer than the 901 batteries

I've noticed the autocleaning cycle of the DSE103 is insufficent.

I just needed to apply 4,5V= for more than 20sec to get rid of the liquid crust on the heater element. Wah, that was stinking and the device became very hot but the supply insulation did not break.

Well, orange color glowing over long periods, will propably reduce lifetime, but keeps full performance if it does not rise the heater elements electrical resistance...
Lucky that DSE103 spare atomizers are cheap, ~5GBP on ebay e.g.
