Looking for the NEW dse901 atomizer

I am so confused. Could you take a moment and answer a few questions for me:

1. What is a mic switch? What are the advantages/disadvantages of having one?

2. What if we use a 4075 (longer) cartridge with a 901 (higher bridge) atomizer? Will it cause a problem?

3. What is we use a 901 (shorter) cartridge with a 4075 (lower bridge) atomizer? Will it produce less vapor than a 4075 cartridge with a 4075 atomizer?

4. Is there a difference in the working life of the "new" 901 atomizer vs. the "old" 901 atomizer vs. the 4075 atomizer?

5. Does the "new" 901 feature a better (i.e., better energy production & longer working life) battery than the "old" 901 and/or the 4075?

good questions palmetto, Wish I could help you out...but I'll just be watching for the answers too lol....I do know that I like the filling/stuffing in my 4075 (accordion look) waaay better then the bunched up poly in the others....

Actually, there are two atomizer-specific cartridges: one for the "original" DSE 901, and one for the the 4075, although the suppliers never bother explaining that. The 901 cartridge is shorter, one piece, totally black and meets the higher bridge, while the 4075 cart is slightly longer, has a brown extension, and meets the lower bridge. You can also tell the difference in the thickness of the mouthpiece -- look at the carts on Totally Wicked's website -- those are for the 4075 (the atomizers they sell are 4075's). The mouthpiece is slightly thicker, and has a hole instead of the slit of the original 901 mouthpiece.

All I can tell you for sure, is that if you buy carts from TW, or Heaven Gifts/Ruyan, for the 901/4075, you are buying 4075 carts. If you buy carts from Best E-Cig or AltSmoke, you are buying the shorter carts for the original 901.

I have the "original" 901 that I bought from AltSmoke -- he sells the shorter 901 carts to match, as does Best E-Cig.

I also have a ScrewDriver, which comes with the the (recommended) 4075 atomizer and carts and I buy carts for that from either TW or Ruyan/Heaven Gifts, since Trog doesn't sell parts.

It's just a mm or two difference -- but it does make a difference.

Those pics above are pretty much it.

My atomizer does not have the datet but rather an "SLB BD " and some sort of (hard to make out without a magnifying glass) number like "36785"... I don't have a screwdriver, but I could probably find a way. I remember having the tip off on the NON SLB and puff the atomizer and it lit up. I briefly tried this once with the SLB and again just now and did not notice it turn red hot...

I find the SLB seems to flow a lot smoother, produce more vapor and seems to last all day at work on one cart. The non SLB seemed to taste kind of burnt while not producing as much vapor and I was constantly topping off. I much prefer these latest 2009 SLB's (again my batteries seem to have an even newer switch operated by pressure not sound or sealed, but more reliable with better processor then the older batteries with pressure switch, motorola still, I think).

So I think these latest models went back to the pressure switch. Also, the battery is about 2mm shorter then the first union batteries. I read this was extra space at the LED that allowed this. Makes sense as the LED is brighter then the first union batteries.

I have 6 of the SLB batteries and 2 of the first union in circulation (1 other first union died first cycle which I believe was the switch and the eight is being returned with that kit). I was thinking the SLB atomizes better because the battery seems better (e.g. more power or battery juice to atomize the juice, haha). But, after reading about the newer atomizer, etc. perhaps some of the extra vape and is as a reult of the new atomizer too.

Just my experience, but my wife agrees way more vapor and smoother flow and only uses her SLB after I gave that one to her. The only first union we have she has and has not gone back to.

The flow is smoother through the atomizer, I believe. Yes, the tip help some too, but even the first union tips flow better on the SLB then on the first union atomizer and seem to hold much more juice...

The newest SLB (if that is what I have) seem to be better quality overall, atomizer, battery, vape, taste, reliability, build, alignment, etc. so far. Granted I have only been vaping on them for about a week...

It is my opinion/experience comparing side by side that the newest SLB cart and the atomizer both hold more juice and flows better (e.g. much easier drag) then the first union / 4075 cart and atomizer.

Ok, I'm not trying to get off subject or go all psychedelic. But does anyone else see what resembles a boy and girl in the glow on Houdini's photo? (Is it just my overactive imagination?)...nice illusion Houdini



Back on subject - I have both a DSE 901 and a 4075. I have found that both models are completely interchangeable from the carts to the batteries and chargers.. Personally I prefer using the RN cart I think it vapes easier and stronger.
