Wish it was the first time I'd read about this - it's not funny, and yet...

e-cigs might not damge your health, but watch out for pipe batteries

I agree with Caesarea it's not funny. I have had this happen in my shirt pocket.

With mine itwasnt the vibration it was the wind blowing in from window. Same
effect as blowing on led tip.

One question though. How long did it take to notice your shorts were on fire??

    My condolences, that really sucks.

My 801 stands up well against vibration, and airflow. I've held it while going 20MPH on a bicycle, no issues. And that's with full exposure to quite powerful wind. The pneumatic switch in them is quite good.

however, the ultimate bulletproof sollution to the problem, is when you're driving, use a manual switch. This might divide your attention, however.

the BE112 batteries are sound activated meaning the have a mic. they are not like other 801 penstyle with a mechanical switch.

any noise or vibration will activate the BE112 battery

I'll add that one to my list. I stay away from the sound activated batts. I work in noisy environments, and travel a lot. My old EVO's used to twinkle on the plane, from the engine whine.
