Hey guys and gals. I've been using an eGo for the last 3 months or so, and I'm actually pretty happy with it, but I'd like to step up to a mod that uses replaceable protected batteries (for longer battery life AND longer shelf life). My problem is that I can't decide if I want to stick with something in a voltage closer to the eGo at 3.7, or make the jump to a 5v or VV device.
Here are a few things to consider:
1. I'm very happy with the eGo, 2.8ohm CE2's and LR 510 attys. I don't "need" any more power or vapor, and I already have plenty of LR attys.
2. I'm an avid Ce2 user and I've heard nothing but bad things mixing ce2's and 5v PV's. Ce2's are the only carto's I'm happy with because no others seem to wick my 60pg/40vg juices all that well, and I do need to use cartos at work and on the road.
3. I am really leary about spending $100+ on a 3.7v PV, despite the increased battery life, easily replaceable batteries and longer lasting PV casing (I could buy 2 riva kits for that much, so that makes me kinda lean towards VV or 5v)
4. I'm not interested in a box mod or bottom feeder. If I really want a feeder I think I'll shell out for a vapemate, but I'm cool with dripping and ce2's. (and the storm tank, and the giantomizers)
What I'm looking at are: the VV Joker with the pulse circuitry, and the GLV-2, or Glv2 superMini.
What I'd like to know:
Is there a voltage threshold where the 2.8 or 3.2 ce2's start burning? I'm under the impression it's around 4.5v.
If I'm happy with the 3.2-3.4v ego, is 4-5v really going to be that much better?
Does the VV Joker cap at 5v or does it go up to 6v?
What's the difference in battery life between 3.7 and 5v?
At what voltage do LR attys get toasted and become unusable?
I know mileage varies, but how long to mods like the GLV and joker last as a unit? Not counting the batteries themselves. (switches, circuits, resistors, connections)?
If anyone has another PV to recommend with a 510 connection killer battery life and decent looks (I don't want something like the copper mod that looks like a freakin pipe bomb) Feel free to post a link. Maybe even something that works as a true passthrough that I can use with a USB port.
Thanks for your help ladies and gentlemen, Look forward to your responses.
