I carry all my kit in a black leather make up bag,all my spare batteries are in an old cartridge box (in the make up bag) and they're all lined up similar to a pack of real cigs, they're screw side up if ok, and led side up if needing a recharge and i've found that works for me.

Same here - just put them the other way up in my case... same for used cartridges
