I'm e-smoking because it's a safer alternative to cigarettes. I like the nicotine and the act of smoking, but don't like that pesky cancer or misc health problems. I might eventually quit the e-cig as well. Not sure on that yet.

Although I started smoking a pipe recently, and I'm starting to get hooked. I take two steps forward and one step back.

Same as a few folks, I like smoking but hate what cigarettes do to you. I'd be a whole lot happier if I could see some kind of medical proof that the stuff we're now inhaling doesn't have long term dangers associated with it, but it HAS to be better than real smokes right?

Basically the smoking ban hit me really hard. Totally wrecked the pub experience. I like watching footy down the pub but packed it in after the ban. 2-0 down, five minutes to go and no fag? Inconceivable! E-cigs meant I got an important part of my social life back.

Default Food Substitution

My journey began because I wanted to quit smoking. I was up to a pack a day of Swisher Sweets (the little cigarette sized ones). I bought those because of the high tax on regular cigarettes. I started a program where you wear nicotine patches, but I just couldn't bring myself to stick one of those things on me.

The reason I smoke is because I have an oral fixation. And if I didn't smoke, I'd probably weigh 500 pounds. They say to substitute carrots and celery, but they just don't do the trick.

Then I found e-cigs by hunting around on the internet for quit smoking programs. I'm hooked on e-cigs and have been having a good ol' time playing with Bickford extracts. I have spent so much money on this stuff. But I think it's worth it. This forum has been great, and for those of you who have not donated yet, dig down in your pockets or sofa or whatever. Every little bit helps.

I missed the hand to mouth and social side I guess. I loved smoking with my brother aswell but now I don't miss anything as I can vape instead!

i started using e-cigs because i felt the negative effects of smoking regulars. I used to be able to run all day, playing basketball, tennis and whatnot. Now, with a few months of inactivity, I realized i had no stamina whatsoever. It is because of smoking. After using e-cigs exclusively, i'm getting my stamina back and i'm not as winded on the courts anymore. So, I suppose my answer is to quit smoking. But, not to quit toaking lol. By toaking,... i mean vaping.
