Hi all - got the lurgy so have been sat at home feeling sorry for myself, but at least I haven't spent any money despite the obvious temptation with my pc sat here looking all tempting!

Sounds like you're going for it Ruby - i've only tried the mixed carts and the two e-liquids I bought in Menthol and Coffee - neither of which tasted anything like their purported flavours!! I'm now wondering if I should just buy some strawberry from e-cigs.co.uk and be done with it!!! I've got to return some liquid to pillbox as I ordered the wrong one (d'oh) and will be swapping for the Virginia liquid - i'm hoping I get on a bit better with it than you did dandamegs - I have so far had better luck with the fruity flavours but you never know! Still not sure whether to give the JC a chance as some seem to get on ok with it, whereas others hate it! I'm wallowing in indecision at the moment but at some point will go for it and purchase another batch.

I have ordered some VG tho, so maybe I will try to make my own at some point as Kate seems to love it so much!

As you can probably gather i'm not winning the battle with the real cigs at the mo, i've had a killer throat and the e-cig is just too harsh so i've hardly touched it

Awww Brunette - hope you feel better soon.

I don't know if we will ever find a taste we truly love, perhaps we just have to do our best with what's avail and adapt to it (I hope!). I'm still using regular cigs too - I'm thinking I should just put them down & walk away now as I'm wondering if they are not making it harder for me to transition myself onto e-cigs and if by using them I am not just setting up my own denial system *sigh*.

On the flavour front, I did get a nice minty flavour with Star Kay White's peppermint extract but it worries me it is an oil extract (in alcohol). Not sure about the health thing with it & I might be kissing my atomiser goodbye even though my little steamer does short work of cleaning it. The gunk was loads on cleaning. But the taste was at least REAL!

When your VG arrives I think you will find it helps with the dry throat and to temper harshness.

I know what you mean about JC juice - been tempted myself! I bought a cheapie e-cig on e-bay for £15.00...penstyle with 2 batteries, 15 carts, adapter & little black kit box thrown in - it is not bad at all. Good vapour & a long cart, but I must say the taste of the cart is puke-worthy! I'm topping with wicked so it is tolerable - perhaps the low nic ones will be better disguised. But I'm going to have to treat it as disposable as I don't think the seller sells batteries. Ever the optimist I figure if I get 2/3 months out of it, it's still a cheap deal. I would love one of the 4 hole generics Cashmere sells though - it sounds pukka. The janty will have to wait until I know this is the way I will smoke forever. (or until I give up - if ever.) Still, after reading Kates good post on the longerterm overall costs, I'm thinking I am just chucking my money right now by not just committing to a top model straight off (well, nearly straight off!)....
See my friend, I'm just as confused as you!

I'm buying left right and center throwing caution to the proverbial wind! I bought some little dropper bottles for the homemade brews too.

Gawd - will it ever end!!!???

Get well soon and keep chipping away at the e-cigs. We'll get there.
And I better get there very soon else the banks will be coming down on me head!

Sorry to hear that you're not well Brunette, I hope you get better soon. Hi Ruby, I'm glad you are so enthusiastic about esmoking, I think it's great.

You might find that the vegetable glycerine takes some of the harshness out of your juice. Depending on your tastes that could be a good or bad thing but it's probably best when you have a sore throat.

Some people think that to stop smoking with an ecig it is best to just stop for a day if you can. You might not want a cig after that, the taste of the ecig gets better. Then if you can do a day, why not another ... and so on.

One of my favourite things about esmoking is being able to experiment with flavours. It may be a bit costly but it's a great hobby.

I'd suggest that you hold off with the Johnson Creek until the new recipe mix gets into the supply system. That could take a few more weeks in the UK. If your ecigs are working ok then you don't want to be under pressure to have to replace them, it's better to buy at leisure.

    Hiya
Yes - but I have had them in the cupboard for 6 mnths and can't remember where the heck I bought them from!
It might have been Tesco's or Sainsbury's. I checked in Tesco's yesterday but nothing there - just little bottles of essence which I bought - coffee & vanilla - both are totally useless I don't recommend them.
I'll watch out for Star Kay White & if I find it again will let you know.
    There is a website: http//:www.starkaywhite.com
They might know who supplies it in the UK.

You can get Star Kay White Chocolate flavouring at Ocado and Ndali vanilla flavouring. The chocolate has a decent taste but the vanilla is very subtle, don't bother to get it if you want a strong flavour. Ocado: The only way to shop for groceries.

I've added a tiny drop of Sainsbury's Special Selection Madagascan Pure Vanilla Extract to my Virginia Wicked (18mg) and am pleased with the result. Tobacco and sweet/fruity combos are a winner in my eyes

Got some menthol crystals today. I'm not a menthol smoker myself but hoping to brew something half decent for my mum.

These are potent. Dissolved a small one in a base of VG, alcohol and Wicked.
Does the job well and quite like it myself!. Think I will be able to persuade her once she tries this!
