    Default Does e-liquid contain alcohol?

My dad asked me to buy him an e-cigarette after I told him about mine. The worry that I have is that he's a recovering alcoholic so the presence of any alcohol is a big no no for him. It wouldn't get him drunk I know but its still an issue, he can't eat food that's had alcohol in either even though it's just the taste that remains.

There is a recipe containing 8% alcohol but I know for sure that the Ruyan, Janty and Partysmoker liquids don't contain any.

You made me wonder if e-smoking is alcool test safe, although breath analyzers should recognize "alcool in mouth" situations and all for a second try if i remember correctly.

That is false, Ruyan itself has reported some of their liquids containing 5% alcohol. More so I was able to taste it in couple first puffs when dripping from new bling cart. And yes I have dripped 20% alcohol in e-cigs so I know the taste.

You can always get a blood test if you disagree.

Ok so yes potentially. That's a shame, he's definitely not going to want to run the risk with that.

Hi scrubdub, you should e mail Jason at totally wicked and ask him for some advises. He also has a lists with lab reports for his liquid. He’s very helpful. To answer your question about flu cured Virginia, I have tried the janty one and it tasted like sweet celery to me. YUCK!

Yeah that's a good idea gnu I'll do that. I should have thought of that before really

Sweet celery sounds horrible, I don't like celery at the best of times let alone with sugar on

There is a thread here that has lists of ingredients for some commercial eliquids - Ingredients in cartridges or E-liquid

I think ethanol is a common ingredient in many eliquids, it's certainly in Janty and Wicked.

Maybe your dad could use home made juice without commercial addidtives - glycerine and flavourings. For the nicotine fix he might find snus or NRT acceptable.

Thanks for that Kate I'll take a look over it. It doesn't sound very promising though which is a shame.

Homemade juice probably isn't that feasible as manual dexterity is a problem and he's tried NRT and snus and didn't get on with them. Ah well, hopefuly there's an alcoholic friendly liquid in there somewhere. I'll keep on investigating.

Did you find any commercial eliquid without alcohol Scrub? It's not easy to find out the ingredients of some brands, I guess you would have to specifically ask the manufacturer or supplier about alcohol.
