Somehow i managed to melt the end of an acrylic tip with a standard ohm carto and an 808 280ma battery- just your run of the mill v4l manual... And wasn't even running dry.

WOW. Seriously? I just started a couple of weeks ago and have already increased how often I vape by quite a bit. Is there any was to avoid this?
